Meet Me on Thames St.

I Had A Bad Thing With A Good Girl

“Mhhmm…. Are you pressuring me?” he smirks

“Yeah, I get to call the shots now.” I say smiling “so sit.”

Without a word, he sat down on the couch.

“How’s your dad doing?” he asks

“To be honest, after you left town he got better. He retired and went to Florida. Guess he didn’t have to worry about bringing you down to the station, anymore.”

“Or around his pretty daughter, anymore” he says smiling down at me

He was a least five inches taller than me.

“He hated the idea of us together. I still remember the day we met.”

Flashback in Chase’s POV
I sat on the bench near the sheriff’s office. I looked at my beat up hands. It was only a fight and the kid had it coming. I couldn’t believe they brought me to the station for this. Well, I’ve been brought here on worse charges. My dad is going to kill me for this.

A small brunette came running to the sheriff’s office. She was in a cheerleading costume, her brown curls bounced as she ran. Her beautiful green eyes had a glint in them. In them she fiddled with the door.

“It’s locked.”

“Ohh” she turned to notice me “Do you know when he’ll open it? I forgot my keys in there.”

“No idea. Why exactly were you in there? You don’t look like the type to be brought down to the station for questioning.” I ask curiously

“That’s none of your business.” She looked at my hands and the cut on the side of my face “What happened to you?”

“You can ask me questions, but I can’t ask you? Fist fight.” I answer

She walked to a cabinet. I watched her, puzzled. She pulled out a first aid kit.

“Let me help, the cut looks bad.” She said looking worried. She put anti-septic on a cotton ball then looked at me “May I?”

I nodded. The anti-septic stung on my cheek. I cringed a bit. This made the girl giggle.

“Don’t be a baby.” She teased

After cleaning the cut, she went in first aid box and took out a butterfly stitch.

“What’s your name?” she asked

“Chase. How long will this take, gorgeous?” I ask with a smirk

“Done, just let me clean up your hands. My name’s Ashley” She blushes

“I like Gorgeous better.”

She blushed to an even darker pink. “Why’d you get into a fight?”

“Kid was messing with my little brother.”

“So why’d you wind up here? You didn’t do anything wrong.” She asked curiously

“Sheriff’s a prick and likes bringing me in.” I say as she puts anti-septic on my hands

“He’s not bad. I’ll explain to him what happened and he’ll drop whatever he was planning on doing.” She says

“What grade are you in?” I ask

She was flawless, but I had never seen her around before.

“I’m a freshman. What about you?” She smiles showing her cute dimples

“Junior.”

“I’ve never seen you around before.”

“We don’t travel in the same circles.”

“What is that supposed to mean?” she frowns

“Look Princess, you must shop with those bottle blondes, date the loser captain of the football team, and everything else. No offense.”

“It’s Ashley, not princess. I have a 3.7 GPA, I hate shopping, and don’t date the jerk offs from the football. Sorry to fuck with your little assumption.” She said rubbing my knuckles

My knuckles were all cut up, but her hands were gentle on mine.

“You forgot to say feisty.” I smirk

She let a slight laugh. “Let me guess, hate the world, really smart, has potential, but pretends he can’t amount to anything. Rides a motorcycle. Goes through girls, like one for every day of the week. Thinks you’re the shit, but inside your really terrified of everything.”

“Dead on, except I’m not afraid of anything.” I smile

“I doubt that, I’ll find something you’re afraid of.”

Before I could answer the sheriff’s door swung open “Ashley, what are you doing here? You said you were going to practice?”

“Um.. yeah I left my house keys in your office, though.” She said getting up to enter his office

He then looked at me and realized we’d been talking “Go to practice now and I’ll see you at home.”

“Yes, Dad.” She says

Dad? What the fuck?

“By the way, did you hear his story? He was standing up for his brother. It’s a small fight. He shouldn’t have to go through this.” Ashley says defending me

“Stay out of this. You can’t always see the good in people” He grumbled

“Daddy…..” she staring him in the eye “Just let him go.”

“Chase, you’re free to go for now. If I catch you doing something again, you’ll be right back here.” The sheriff said unwillingly

I nodded and headed to my motorcycle in the back parking lot. I turned it on and drove towards the road. I saw her walking. I pulled over.

“Gorgeous, Thanks for doing that back there.”

“Ashley.” She said shaking her head “and no problem”

“Let me make it up to you. Need a ride?” I ask

“That’d be nice” she smiled

I have thing for the Sheriff’s daughter. I’m fucked

Present Day in Ashley’s POV

“Yeah, I didn’t stand a chance with you.” He smirked

“My dad told me that night, that you were a bad kid and I had to stay away from you.”

“He was right.”

“Guess I was never good at listening.” I smile

He looked into my eyes and began to come closer. His eyes then to my lips and his gentle brushed mine. It was enough to send shivers down my spine, but I knew better than this. I changed.

“Don’t” I whispered lightly pushing him away from me
