A Lifetime to Struggle

" Alright, call me after you're finished your classes. I'll be at home." Matt said, as i got out of his car.
"Thank's Matt." I said.
"And if anyone tries to make a move on you, let them know who I am, and i'll come kick their ass."
I laughed. Matt was always protective of me. My dad and I never had the type of relationship Matt and him did, so Matt was pretty much filling in for him. He made me finish school, made me come here, and wouldn't let me do anything i wasn't supposed too. Of course I did the things i wasn't supposed to though. Being friends with people like Jimmy, you're bound to end up doing illegal things.
"Okay Matthew. Love you."
"Love you too, " I closed the door with my hip, seeing as my hand's were full with two binders, and a backpack.
I watched as Matt drove away, and i suddenly felt alone.
My first day of University. I was never good at making friends. I was socially awkward, and always tend to say the wrong thing. The only reason i know Jimmy, Johnny, Zacky and Brian so well was because of Matt.
I took in a deep breath, and walked to my first class's building. I already knew where everything was, i took a tour two months before i started, and came here a few days ago to make sure i knew for sure what i was doing.
I had two classes i had to attend. Photography 101 and Physics. One hour in between.
I found my first class, straight away. It wasn't hard, seeing as a bunch of kids with fancy camera's were walking in and out.
I walking in slowly.
"Alright, Alright settle down." the teacher said. I scurried over to the same side of the room everyone else was on.
"I'm your photography teacher Mr. McKellen." He said. " And this year, i expect you to go from rookie, to best damn photographer in the state."
Everyone gave a small laugh.
"First off, i'd like everyone to find a partner. get to know each other, talk about you photography skills. Blah Blah blah."
Everyone started talking again, finding people with an almost instant.
"Hey you, " Someone said, grabbing my arm.
"Whoa," I said, realizing i was being pulled.
"Hi, I'm Natalia Carter" She smiled at me.
"H-hi. I'm uhh. Harmony." I said, feeling myself blush. Let the socially awkward kick in.
"I saw you walk through the door, and thought you seemed pretty cool. I think it was your sweater." She pointed to Brian's old Avenged Sevenfold hoodie.
"Oh. You're a fan?" I asked.
" Yeah pretty much. You know, you look like Matt." She smiled.
I smiled. If only she knew.
"I get that a lot." I said.
She stared at me for a moment, squinting her eyes.
"What did you say your name was again?" She asked.
"Harmony." I replied.
She stared at me for a bit longer before putting the pieces together.
"Oh shit!" She exclaimed. I laughed to myself. "You're Harmony Sanders!"
"I am." I agreed, shaking my head. I didn't get this so often, but it does happen. It's like i'm the famous one.
"Shit son, This is crazy. What are you doing here?" She asked.
"Trying to be normal." I said shrugging.
" That's not gonna work so well with me Hun." She smiled.
"I think i've figured that much." I smiled back at her.
"This is crazy! I know your brother's band isn't major right now, but I've been with them since the beginning."
" So have I!" I exclaimed.
She laughed at my stupid joke.
"Look's like we have something in common." I couldn't help but smile. Natalia seemed like she was a good person. Kind, not to mention super beautiful. I couldn't help but find myself feeling a bit jealous. Her black hair, Monroe and industrial piercings, tattoo's and stretched ears. This chick was like one of those girls you see on Tumblr all the time.
"Alright, i think that's enough time." Mr. Mckellen said.
"I have an hour after this. You should come hang out with me." Natalia said.
"Yeah, tha'd be cool," I agreed, nodding my head.
She gave me one last smile before turning her attention to the class.
