Caught Up In You.

Hanging out.

"This movie sucks." She said from her spot beside me.

"Oh? Is that why yeh keep coverin' yeh eyes?" I asked with a smirk and she rolled her eyes, "I'm trying to block the horrible animated scenes out."

"Lia'. It scares yeh."

"Maybe I have a slight fear of dinosaurs."

I laughed, "How is that possible when they don't even exist?!"

"Yes they do!"

I couldn't help but laugh as she pulled the blanket closer to her face. I instantly turned my fist into a ball trying not to reach out and touch her like a part of me severely wanted to do for some reason.

She looked over at me and I chuckled, "Yeh can move closa ta meh if yeh like. I'm not gonna let anyfing get yeh." I teased causing an eye roll to come my way.

"No dinosauas, Matty, yeh name it."

She smacked my arm lightly and I chuckled, "Juss sayin'. Yeh safe wif meh."

She looked back at the television and I irrationally decided to just grab her and pull her to me.

She didn't object, just held on to the blanket and relaxed against my side.

I mean, nothing was wrong with this right? I had Tiffany, she, well, she was apparently about to have Matty, so was this completely wrong?

I looked down at the small girl as she stared intently at the screen. She was different from Tiffany. She was quiet, and kept me on my toes because I never knew what would leave her perfect lips.

Then again, why was it so wrong to have a friend that was a girl? When did that become such a crime?

I let out a sigh unexpectedly which caused her to look up at me instantly.

"What?"

I chuckled, "Nuffin."

She squinted her eyes at me and a grin hit my lips. She just shook her head and looked back at the screen causing me to chuckle and wrapped my arms around her.

"What?" I asked against her ear.

"Nothing."

"Yeh lyin'."

"How would you know?"

I chuckled, "I can juss tell."

She turned enough to look at me and I kissed her cheek, "We're friends right?"

"I believe so..."

I nodded and she spoke, "Why?"

"Juss wonderin'. If I'm gonna defend us ta my bird it betta be true."

She laughed, "Defend us?"

"Yes. Yeh fink my bird is gonna like meh hangin' wif anotha bird?"

She shrugged, "Why tell her?"

"I dunno..." I responded going into thought. I guess she was right.

"Then again, maybe you should because I guess when she's here you won't get to hangout with me."

"Nah, I will. She can't dictate that."

"So, just let her be mad at you?"

"She should trust me."

"Oli, come on. So you're saying you'd be ok if she hung out with a guy?"

"Well..."

"Right."

"So what? Yeh juss don't wanna hang wif meh when she gets back 'gain?" I asked and she sighed, "Well of course I do..."

"Well dear, yeh can't have yeh cake and eat it too."

"Originial metephor..." She responded sarcastically.

I chuckled, "Shut up."

She laughed and laid her head against my chest as I looked back at the movie.

"Plus, you know, tomorrow is my last day at my aunt's house."

A frown immediately hit my lips. I had grown use to having her just next door.

"Where do yeh normally live?" I asked.

"In town."

"Oh yeh live by yehself?"

"Yep."

"Awe, yeh such a big girl!"

"Shut up."

I chuckled as I looked back at the television.

"See, yeh made us miss tha rest of tha movie!"

"Did not! You kept talking!"

"Did not." I mumbled pulling her with me onto the couch so I could lay down.

"Sleepy?"

I chuckled, "Sounds propa cute when yeh say it."

"Does not."

"Does so."

She rolled her eyes and I kissed her nose.

"Guess I should get going..."

"Benji doesn't wanna go."

I didn't want her to go.

She giggled, "Really? He's asleep."

"Exactly. Yeh don't wanna wake him up. That's mean."

She rolled her eyes and leaned on my arm, "Ok, I won't argue about it because I'm tired."

"Sleepy." I joked.

She laughed, "Sleepy. Yes."

The room grew quiet and it wasn't long until she fell asleep. Although I said I was tired I watched her sleep as my mind went into over drive.

Did I tell Tiffany, did I not? I mean we were just friends, but still. Clearly Tiffany already had trust issues.

I just stared at the sleeping girl beside me and breathed in deeply. Ok, I wasn't going to tell her. It wasn't worth the fight and I wanted to keep Sophia.

So, it was decided.

I wrapped my arm around her and closed my eyes tightly. It would be fine.

The next morning I woke up to Benji barking causing me to groan and cover my head with the blanket as I pressed my face against Sophia's neck.

"Shut up yeh bloody mut." I grumbled and Sophia laughed softly causing me to smile against her skin. I didn't realize I was basically laying on top of her until now and I instantly grew nervous.

I leaned off of her to look at her and she gave me a small grin.

"Sorrah. I didn't realize I was all up on yeh."

"It's ok." She whispered as I moved off of her.

"I need to go. My aunt and uncle should be home soon."

"Will yeh come see meh before yeh leave?"

"Sure. Why not."

I rolled my eyes and she laughed as she got up from the couch.

"I can take yeh home if yeh want." I offered and she smiled, "Thanks. See you soon."

I nodded as she called Benji before hooking his leash on him and walking out of the door. A sigh escaped my lips and forced myself off the couch and to my room where showered and got ready to leave. As I was pulling on my shirt my bedroom door flew open and Sophia stood in the doorway.

"Um..." I started to say as I stared at her not even attmpting to put the shirt over my head yet.

"So, Matty asked me on a date tonight."

"Ok?"

"Should I go?"

I chuckled finally getting my heart to a normal rhythm and tugging my shirt over my head.

"Course love. Yeh should go."

She sighed as she placed her hands on her hips.

"I'm nervous."

"Why? He's not gonna take advantage of yeh or somefin'."

"Oli!"

"What? He won't. I mean, if yeh want him to he will." I responded chuckling.

She pushed me lightly and I smiled, "Soph, yeh gonna go out wif him. It'll be fine. Relax. Did yeh family come back?"

"Yep. Good to go."

"Alright, well now that tha dramatic moment is ova. Let's go."

"Fine." She mumbled and I chuckled as I followed her to the car.

I couldn't help but find it amusing at how nervous she was to go out with Matty when I knew he was probably even more nervous than her.

***

"Yeh look lovely Soph, relax." I said watching her fiddle with her hair in the bathroom mirror after changing outfits almost 20 times.

"Will you stay here?"

I chuckled, "What do yeh mean?"

"Will you stay here tonight."

"Oh. Sure, love. Why?" I asked leaning against the door frame as I crossed my arms.

"Because..."

I laughed, "Don't want him to force himself on yeh?" I joked.

"Oli, stop." She whined.

"I'm kiddin', love. Yes, I'll stay here, but Matty should be here in ten and yeh need ta chill out."

She breathed in deeply and I smiled as she stared at me, "Chill. Yeh look beautiful. Matty is a lucky bloke." I responded honestly. The blue of her dress brought out her eyes more than I thought possible since they were so bright on there own. Stunning was the word that crossed my mind when I first saw her in it.

A blush hit her cheeks from my comment, "Thanks."

I nodded and I reached for her hand pulling her back into the living room.

"What time should I expect yeh back, honey?" I joked with her and she glared at me clearly not finding it amusing like I did.

"Should I wait up?"

She smacked my arm and I laughed, "Ok, ok. I'll be here."

Her doorbell rang throught the apartment and I looked at her just to see her grow even more nervous. It amused me that someone as beautiful as her was freaking out over something so simple.

"Want meh ta get it?" I asked and she nodded.

I cupped her face with a grin, "Relax love. If at any point yeh start havin' a bad time. Text me and I'll be there in seconds."

"Ok." She whispered.

I kissed her forehead and went to the door. Matty gave me a confused look as I opened it and I smirked, "Sorrah. My lil bird was nervous. Keep yeh hands ta yehself mate. She's not on of those slags yeh date." I warned and he nodded as his lips pierced together. Although I was sure I didn't have to tell him that. H was shocked she was even giving him the time of day.

I let him in and patted his shoulder as we reached Sophia.

"Hi." Matty fumbled out and I fell onto the couch with amusement. This was like watching a awkward teen movie.

"Go." I said to Sophia as I lifted my foot and pushed it lightly against her leg. She glared at me and kicked me without force causing me to laugh.

I said goodbye as she left with Matt and I sighed as I turned on her television. I found myself unsure about how I felt about this date. A part of me hoped she liked him simply so she would be around me more often even when Tiffany was around, but another part, well I was indifferent about it and wasn't exactly sure what I meant by feeling that way. Maybe it was because I had gotten close to her and didn't want there to be any chance of her getting hurt. I'm sure that was it...

Lucky for me my thoughts were interrupted by my phone ringing and I got thrown into a conversation with Tiffany. Although I found myself wanting Sophia to hurry back to keep me company.
