Fantasies

Ten; Bullets

Brian

I nodded to Matt and he pounded at the door. I stood there, nervous but not enough to bother me. I don't know if this 'Mr.Davis' has her. I don't know if he's hurting her. All I know is that he'll get hurt if he doesn't open up.

The door slightly opened and the man jumped back. He pushed the door to close it but I caught it with my foot.

"I'm coming in." I said.

I walked in, as did the others. We all stood in front of the old man. He was perhaps in his late fifties. He had thick rimmed glasses and grey hair. His blue eyes have grown old.

"Where is she?" I asked.

"Where is who?"

"Darlie."

"Oh, you guys want her too? She sure is a thing, isn't she?" he asked, picking up a picture of Darlie from the counter.

"Look man, I'm not here for your games. Where is she?"

"Wait a second now, he just brought her to me yesterday. She bathed this morning and I was finally gonna get to have her. Give me...give me four weeks and you can take her."

"We already waited three." Johnny said.

"Who brought her to you?" I yelled.

"Vergario, who else?"

"Vergario?" I whispered his name to myself. How could Vergario, a detective who was keeping her safe bring her to this man?

"Come on?" I said, grabbing the man by his shirt and pulling him.

"Oh, you guys want to watch."

"You know what?" Matt punched the man, causing him to fall to the ground and become unconscious.

"Great, you take him now. Bring him to one of the rooms, check if he has any weapons, tie him up, and watch him."

I started opening every door that I could find until I finally found the one in the basement. I opened the door and slowly walked down, calling Darlie's name.

"Darlie?"

I heard a squeak coming from a corner and ran towards it. I pulled on a bag but she wasn't there. I walked around and found a switch. I turned it on and found nothing but a puppy. It had a bow tied around his neck and a card hung down from it.

Darlie, it read.

I walked up the stairs and into the kitchen. I'm sure Darlie is here if Davis was just about to take her. I ran upstairs and walked into each bedroom, still nothing. Darlie isn't here.

"Where is she?" I said, slapping the man on his face.

He woke up a little bit, "In the cellar door."

I ran back downstairs and into the basement. I opened a door and found someone sitting on a chair. She was dirty, a white dress stained in brown.

"Darlie?"

She squealed and I untied her.

"Brian, we have to go. Vergario is gonna come back in an hour."

"Darlie, calm down. What did Vergario say?"

"Vergario called Mr.Davis and said he had two hours with me. Then Vergario was gonna take me back and hand me back to you. That would make you guys get in t-trouble and afterwards he would have me again. I heard something about sex slavery."

"What?"

"Brian, you have to leave. You need to go far away, okay? Forget about me." she started.

"Shut up Darlie, why are you being so stupid? This isn't an action movie. I'm not gonna leave you. Common, we'll go together."

I grabbed her hand and we ran up the steps.

"Guys, come on!" I yelled.

I opened the front door and put Darlie in the back seat. A car pulled up, it was one of Vergario's men. He took a gun out but he was suddenly shot dead. I turned and it was Johnny. He shook as he put his arm down.

The guys got in and I quickly drove off.

"Where are we gonna go?! Why the hell did we do this?!" Zach yelled.

"Shut up man, just shut up. Put your seat belts on. We'll see where we'll go, okay? Just, just shut up."
