**CHANTELLE’S POV**
I slowly walked towards the door thinking of what to say, its been 9 years since I’ve seen them. ‘Will they forgive me?’ ‘Will they want to see me?’ and ‘Are they even home?’
I knocked on the door 3 times till someone answered the door.
“Hi.” The familiar person said not recognizing who I was.
“Yeah Hi! Is Corrine home?”
“Ummm…yeah who are you?”
“Just tell her its Chantelle.” I said to Leon (Corrine’s younger brother) as he walked off.
“Who the fuck is Chantelle?” I heard Corrine mutter.
“You don’t think its-” Emily said as they approached the door to see me.
“Hi guys!” I said smiling.
“Oh!” Corrine said.
“My.” Emily said.
“God.” They both said.
“Are you going to let me in or not?” I asked as they just stood there staring at me in shock.
“I-I-Its you.” Emily stuttered to say.
“Nah! Its Santa.” I said rolling my eyes as I let myself in.
“As in C-Chantelle?” A very dumbfounded Corrine asked me.
“Yes Corrine.” I said walking past and sitting down.
“I don’t even get a hug? Its been 9 fucking years and I don’t get a hug!” I said putting on a
puppy dog face with my arms wide open.
They all of a sudden looked as if they had clicked on.
“Chantelle!” They both screamed running towards me. Those were the friends I was look for.
“Shit!”
“Fuck, did we miss you!” Corrine said as she sat on the chair.
“Yeah same.”
“How did you get here?” Emily asked.
“Cab.”
“You know we could have picked you up.”
“Yeah I know but I wanted it to be a surprise. So what have I missed out on?”
“Nothing much.” Corrine said but I could tell she was lying.
“Okay.”
“But you know what is coming up?” Emily asked with her evil smile.
“What?” Corrine and I asked.
“Your birthday and we have the perfect present for it.” Emily said looking at Corrine who
finally got what she meant.
“Oh yeah but the ‘thing’ is before her birthday.” Corrine said to Emily.
“So…its called an early birthday present.”
“Okay.”
“What is it?” I asked interrupting them.
“You’ll find out on Saturday night, but tomorrow is shopping.” Corrine said.
“For what?”
“Wait til’ Saturday.” She replied.
The same night I had insisted on staying in a motel but they told me to stay the night of else
which in the end I did do.
“Goodnight.” I said.
“Goodnight.” They both said.
“Chantelle?” Emily said.
“Yeah.”
“Did we tell you about Gee and the boys?”
“What about them?” I sighed I had been trying to avoid this topic all day.
“There in a band its called-”
“My Chemical Romance I know.” I said smiling.
“Oh okay good night.”
“Good night.” I said drifting of to sleep.
