Learning How to Live

A fourteen year old girl is lying down on the grass outside of her burning home. She couldn't believe it, she lost her parents and her home in less than 3 hours. How could this happen to her? Why did this happen to her? She had never done anything wrong. She had kept her grades up, never talked back to anyone. She'd only been in a few fights, but they were for good reasons. She laid there and wondered why her out of all the girls in the city, why was she the one that had to lose her parents on her birthday? She stared up at the dark sky while firemen and the police ran around the yard trying to stop the fire from spreading. Her brothers were sitting beside her crying. They were 17 and 18.The older one's name was Eric, the younger one was Trey. They turned to their sister and asked her if she was ok. She just kept staring at the sky above her. Trey looked at Eric and shook her shoulders. When she gave no reply he yelled to a cop for help.
