Decision

I was caught, conflicted like so many others. But they were from a time far different, a place so distant. Where knights were still chivalrious on their great warhorses, fighting for honor whilst kings sat upon their thrones in all their revelry.

My mind wandered around, meandering over different eras, different continients, different lives. And, eventually, back to my girl. Kate, as I remember. I could easily picture her in a different time, as a rebellious, highborn nobel's daughter.

The bus grinded to a halt, releasing toxic fumes as the doors screeched open. Snapped out of my reverie, I quickly got off, paying no heed to the obnoxious stares.

I couldn't go back home.

I couldn't not go back home.

Eventually I would have to go back.

Either way, the monster would attack.

It was just a matter of when.

And at that moment, I made a decision.

I turned, and walked the other way.

Yeah. Super short, I know. But still.
