Alex and I were complicated. We had a long and confusing history. It had started out as truly being friends. We’d known each other since freshman year, since he moved in next door to me. He went from the shy, somewhat awkward, more reserved quiet kid to the most obnoxious friend I had ever had. I knew almost everything there was to know about him, and he could read me like a book. We talked about things we couldn’t share with anyone else, not even our other friends. He was like the brother I never had. That is, until the kiss.
