Beautiful girl, let the sunrise come again

"Uncle Jonny! What're we going to do today?" I heard my younger cousin Sally ask me.

I looked down at the young eleven year-old girl and chuckled. I knew having her live with me for the next week was going to be a pain in the ass, but I cared deeply for the young girl. My Aunt and Uncle were going through extremely hard times, a divorce, I think. They didn't necessarily tell me much about what was happening, but I did know that Sally was going through way too much for a young girl her age. Me, being the closest relative near Winnipeg, decided I'd take her in for the week.

"How would you like to go to Millennium Park?" I asked her curiously.

Sally looked up at me curiously, debating her options.

"Sounds like a lot of fun!" She smiled, shaking her head.

I chuckled. After telling her to get ready quickly, I decided to invite the one and only girl that I have ever found serious in my life. Tori. A quick phone call, and telling her quickly where to meet us, I was off the phone and in my car with Sally as fast as possible. As we drove through the large downtown streets, I noticed with a smile that Sally was completely astonished by such large buildings and such amazing architecture. Coming from Winnipeg, we never really did have large buildings like the skyscrapers in Chicago.

"So listen Sal, I invited a really good friend of mine to come with us. Her name is Tori, is that alright with you?" I asked her curiously.

She looked up at me with a knowing smile and a smirk on her features.

"Is Tori your girlfriend?" she asked chuckling causing me to laugh.

"Something like that." I admitted.

Once we finally arrived to Millennium Park I took her to the Crown Fountain where we jumped around in the water, splashing around like wild. I walked away momentarily, answering the phone call I had just gotten from Tori.

"Hello Tori." I chuckled.

"Hi Jon, I'm here but I can't seem to find you guys." she told me, her voice sounding confused.

"Why don't you tell me what you're wearing, then maybe I can see you?" I told her smirking.

"My, my Jonathan Toews. Are you flirting with me?" she asked.

"You've caught me redhanded." I admitted.

"Well, I'm wearing an orange tank top, a pair of shorts with orange Toms." she described for me.

I looked all around me, trying to see her anywhere. I chuckled when she finally saw me, waving her hand wildly to show me where she was. I waved towards her, silently telling her to come over. She did, with a bit of a pep in her step, she came over to where I stood.

"Well hello there, pretty girl." I smiled at her, capturing her lips in an innocent kiss.

"Hello there, handsome." she smirked.

"Sally!" I shouted, acknowledging her to come over and say hello.

Sally raced over a smile on her face, I knew she was excited to meet this mystery woman in my life and I knew she was just dying to make a new friend as well. I watched Tori curiously as a motherly smile seemed to caress her face and she stared down at Sally.

"Well who is this pretty girl?" Tori asked me.

"Sally this is my good friend Tori, Tori this is my cousin Sally." I explained to them.

"It is so nice to meet you, Miss Sally." Tori chuckled lightly as she shook Sally's small hand.

"It's nice to meet you too, Tori." Sally smiled.

"Well then, how about we go exploring?" I asked them both, to which they nodded excitedly.

I had never really noticed how much fun it is to give up your adulthood for a day and pretend to be a complete child. I had always been known as Captain Serious, but being with Sally and Tori I couldn't be anymore immature. I was racing around with Sally and Tori, playing hide and go seek in the large garden areas, taking silly pictures under the bean. I was complete and utter immaturity and I had never had so much fun. After we spent the day doing everything and anything possible in Millennium Park, Tori decided to take us to dinner. We sat down in a small italian restaurant named Maggiano's a small low key place that Tori claimed had the best italian food she'd ever tasted.

"So Tori, are you and Jonny going to get married?" Sally asked once the waiter set down our food.

Tori had barely gotten a fork full of pasta in her mouth before she started choking on it. I tapped her back lightly trying to help her clear her airways and finally be able to breathe easier, shooting a warning look to Sally. Once Tori was finally able to breathe again, she couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Well jeeze, I'm not sure. I guess you'd have to ask Jonny about that one." She told her still laughing.

"One day, don't worry. One day she'll be Victoria Toews." I announced, wiking towards Tori as I saw the smile that captured her face.
