Cold As You.

And I know you wouldn't have told nobody.

The day seemed to fly by probably because I was completely happy for once. Pat didn't even look at me whenever he was around and I decided to stand in the crowd for the show. Well, in front of Kennedy.

"Look, there isn't a barrier here so please keep your hands to yourself." He said with a smirk as he bent down to be eye level with me. The doors had just opened so there weren't a lot of people around yet. I laughed, "I'll try, but you're like my favorite member." I whispered and he chuckled, "Well, I'm everyones favorite, but you're my favorite fan by far." He added grinning before leaning into me and kissing me. It was weird how open he was about this. He apparently didn't care who knew and that honestly meant a lot to me.

He gave me a wink as he stood up and grabbed his guitar.

I couldn't help but smile simply from how he made me feel.

Show started and of course I knew every song so I got into it as if it wasn't people I knew. I would catch Kennedy looking at me occasionally and we would exchange smiles like teenagers. I couldn't help but wonder if he felt as giddy around me as I did around him.

"So we decided to play a holiday song tonight since christmas is pretty close." Kennedy said causing the crowd to scream.

"Don't lie Ken, we're playing this because your girlfriend likes this song." John said and Kennedy chuckled, "That too."

John rolled his eyes, "I love how he acts like he's in the holiday spirit or some shit. No. It's his girl's last show with us."

The crowd laughed and I shook my head with amusement. Pat had zero emotion on his face and I tried to not let it bother me.

"Sue me!" Kennedy said causing me to laugh.

"Nah, we'll miss you Cass. We love you. Now let's get it started." John said. He was chatty when he drank which is basically what he did every show.

Kennedy looked at me with a grin as he started playing. Once the song ended they had a break since they were playing without an opening act. Kennedy took his guitar off and handed it to their tech guy as John rambled to the crowd for a minute.

Kennedy kneeled down causing the teenage girl beside me to almost pass out I think.

"Come backstage."

"And lose my spot? Psh."

He chuckled, "Come on, everyone wants to go backstage with there favorite member."

"No offense, but don't you have a girlfriend?" The girl on the other side of me asked and I busted out laughing.

"Yeah, I do." He said with a smirk.

"And yet you're asking a girl to go backstage?"

"Well, seeing as how the girl I'm asking is in fact my girlfriend. Yes, yes I am."

"Oh." She said clearly not expecting that.

I chuckled and he looked back at me, "Jeez, apparently everyone thinks I'm a man whore." He joked.

"It's the facial hair."

He laughed and held his hand out to me, "Please? You leave soon."

I sighed and placed my hand in his and he pulled me onto the stage and led me to the back.

"You're sweaty." I said and he laughed kissing my head as we reached the guys.

"I asked her to come back and the girl beside her like basically jumped down my throat thinking I was trying to hit on someone that wasn't my girlfriend." He said chuckling to John.

"Wow I see where our fans loyality lies." He joked and I laughed.

"Gonna fuckin' miss you Cass. Seriously." John added and I grinned, "It won't be too long."

"Lets not talk bout it right now! It makes me sad!" Garrett yelled and I laughed as I wrapped my arms around him.

"So wait. You won't hug me because I'm sweaty but Garrett's ok?" Kennedy asked.

"I'm fucking Garrett Nickelsen! Duh!" Garrett said holding me to him and we all started laughing.

Once the show ended and everything was packed and ready Jared drove us to the airport as I tried to think of how to fix Pat and I. I hated fighting with him and I did not want to leave here not on good terms and especially not talking to each other.

They all walked me into the airport and I dropped my things next to a row of seats.

"See you soon little one." Jared said and I quickly hugged him.

"Keep everything in order."

He chuckled, "I will."

"Whyyyyyy." Garrett said scooping me up and I clung to him tightly.

"I'll miss you Gar bear." I said into his shoulder.

"I'll miss you more." He whispered kissing my cheek before placing me on my feet.

"Well, now that you can't breathe." John joked and I laughed as he hugged me.

"Gonna talk to Pat?"

"I'm going to try." I whispered. He smiled and kissed my forehead, "Be careful. I'll text you later."

I nodded and he gave me a grin before pushing me to Pat.I bit my lip as he stood in front of me with crossed arms.

"Pat, I hate fighting with you." I finally said causing him to sigh, "I just want you happy do you not get that? If Kara makes you happy then so be it. I won't stand in the way. Why can't you do the same for me? I'm happy with Kennedy. Can't you see that?"

"I just think he'll hurt you Cassidy."

"You have to let me find that out on my own. I love that you protect me, it's probably saved me from several mistakes, but you can't shield me from the world, Pat." I said with a grin, "I'm a big girl now. I can take care of myself."

"I know." He grumbled and I wrapped my arms around him, "But I'll always need you." I mumbled into his shirt and he hugged me to him.

"I need you too Cass. You're my other half. I love you." He whispered.

"I love you too and you owe me a very big Christmas gift." I said slugging his arm and he laughed, "Yeah, yeah."

I smiled as I pulled back feeling better than ever. I hated fighting with him. It wasn't something we did and it always threw my world upside down and made me feel unsettled.

"Are you going to kill me if I talk to Kennedy now?" I asked seriously

He sighed, "No. You're right. I mean it. I won't interfere unless I need to."

I rolled my eyes, "Great."

He gave me a smile and I stepped to Kennedy. His green eyes met mine and I immediately tackled him into a hug. He squeezed me tightly to him and I closed my eyes taking in his smell.

"Call me when you get home and if you call Garrett before me I'll murder you."

I giggled, "I won't."

"I miss you already." He whispered into my hair.

I sighed and looked up at him as he cupped my face, "Ne good pretty lady. You hear me?"

"I should be telling you that."

"Ha, I'm a taken man, sweetie. No need to tell me that."

I giggled and he smiled before pressing his lips to mine.

"I'll see you soon. Won't be too bad." He whispered.

"Yeah..."

He sighed and brushed my cheek with the back of his hand.

"Gonna miss me?" He asked and I nodded in response.

"Just think..." he whispered touching his forehead to mine, "When I get home we can spend all day together just you and me. We can go look at christmas lights, watch every christmas movie we can find and I'll cook for you." He whispered and I grinned, "You? Cook?"

"Oh yeah. That is a side of Kennedy Brock only girlfriends get to see. Be honored."

I giggled, "Oh I am."

He grinned and kissed me softly, "I'll call you tomorrow ok?"

I nodded sadly and he kissed me once more before dropping his arms from me.

The flight seemed longer because I dreaded going home and I was already missing Kennedy. It didn't help that it was in the middle of the night. Luckily Kara had already agreed to pick me up. Once I reached Arizona it was almost 2 in the morning and I immediately texted Kennedy as I went to grab my luggage.

'I'm in lovely Arizona. :)'

'Without me. :( I'm glad you made it ok, sweetie. Is Kara there?'

'Waiting on her now.' I responded as I grabbed my bag and waited until she called me and Kennedy instantly texted back.

'Of course. Ha. Pat's being nice...I don't know if it's because of what you two talked about of because he's plotting to kill me. :| '

'He's not going to kill you. Haha.'

'You never know... well, get home and get some sleep. I'll call you tomorrow. Goodnight.'

'goodnighttt. :)'

"There you are!"

I heard and looked up to see Kara.

"You could have called me."

"Could have, but I didn't."

I chuckled and grabbed up my bag, "Clearly."

"So tell me everything because yesterday Pat was irrate."

"Yeah, it was bad. We're ok now."

"Good. I told him he was being stupid."

"Thanks." I said chuckling as we reached her car.

"So you and Kennedy...." she said as we climbed in.

"Well, he asked me to be his girlfriend."

"Awe! Yey! Finally!"

"I thought you weren't team Kennedy anymore?"

"Yeah well I lied. I was always for him, but I feel the need to diss him when he's a douche to you."

"You're a good friend."

We both laughed and drove back to the apartment we shared.

"Have you gotten him anything for christmas?" She asked as she helped me carry my bags in.

"Yes. But, I'll probably invest in more now."

She chuckled, "Of course."

"The plaid shirts just won't do."

"Although I bet he likes those the best."

"I know which is just sad."

"Then again, he'll love anything from you."

I shrugged as I fell onto the couch with a yawn.

"I'm certain he loves you. I think that's what scares Pat."

"Lets just say he does, which I don't agree with. Why would he worry about that?"

"Honestly, as corny as this sounds, I think he's scared he'll be put in second place. I mean, look how much time you two spent together and how connected you two are."

"I've had boyfriends before."

"Yeah, but if you two love each other that's very different then dating someone in highschool."

I sighed, "Well that's stupid."

"Cassidy, when something awesome happens who do you call?"

"Pat..."

"Right. So, that might change if things got serious with you in Kennedy."

"I don't think so."

"Pat does."

I groaned, "When did you become a therapist?"

"Good question. Must be lack of sleep."

"Well, I'm going to bed."

She nodded and I slowly went to my room. Maybe she was right. I definitely needed to tell Pat that he was being ridiculous and no one could ever replace him. Afterall, he was my brother.
