A Dreamer Now and Forever

1/1

"You'll never be what you dream of. No one will care who you are or what you can prove," were the words that I last heard from you before I left out the door. I don't remember where I went, all I knew is that I wanted to prove you wrong so much that you would eat your words.

I had wanted to be a singer; a singer whose music could relate to anyone, no matter what their ages. I thought that you would've helped me along the way, but it turns out that you were always trying to bring me down. To make me give up my dreams and realize that nothing could have ever been done to reach them.

I drove on for days, trying to get my voice heard to the major record companies and each one turned me down. At first I started to believe--more like realize--that the words you had said were true after all. But I only had one more record company to go to.

This record company seemed different than those past, the environment felt determined with the dark blue walls and black marble flooring, a secretary who was behind her desk answering calls was heard as I walked in. The only thing that I felt was hope and maybe nervousness of what the owners would think. While the secretary was still on the phone, I had decided to sit in one of the chairs that was closer to the door and picked up one of the magazines that they had laying out for those waiting. After she was done with whoever was on the other end of the phone, she called me up and said that everyone was ready and took me to where I would make a lasting impression on those who decided my future.

We're gonna prove you wrong
We're gonna show you that there's more to us
(More to us than what you even see {3x})
We're gonna have our name in lights one day
We're gonna prove you wrong
Cause baby, there's nothing better to be than ourselves
To be ourselves and not what someone tells us who to be

To prove you wrong baby; that's what we were born for
To show the world that standing out is better than changing who you are
That just because the in-crowd is popular doesn't mean that they still will be later on
That the ones that are called "weirdos" will show everyone that we're worth something
Something more than anyone can ever think of or even label
That we can prove everyone who stood in our way that we're worth something more
{Prove 'em wrong baby 3x}
{We will prove ya wrong forever and always baby 4x}

After I was done, I had thanked them for their time, walked out the door, and thought that it would be the same as the last companies I had went to. A few days came and went when I received a phone call from the owners of the last company saying that I would become the newest singing sensation for the world to hear.

Guess I just went and proved you wrong, huh?
Guess I'll be a dreamer now and forever.
