‹ Prequel: All for Helena
Helena, Go Where Your Heart Takes You.
Chapter 8
I shook my head quickly. No. It couldn’t be possible. Not again. I’m not pregnant. Gerard doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Just because it feels like it did when I was pregnant, that doesn’t mean I am. I’m sick. Yea, that’s right.
“Gerard. I am not pregnant,” I stated. I crossed my arms and glared at him.
“Ryan, think about it,” he mumbled. “You’ve been throwing up, but kid....you’ve gained weight!” Gerard exclaimed, pointing at the scale. I shook my head again.
“No,” I stated. He gave me a look.
“Ryan...” he said.
“No,” I said in a weaker voice.
“Ryan,” he said again.
“No,” I squeaked.
“RYAN! I’M HOME!” Frank shouted, coming up the stairs. He turned into the bathroom and stopped short, walking into Gerard. He grunted a little and stepped back. “Hi Gerard,” he smiled. He looked from him, to me, to the scale. “How did you gain weight?” he asked. I shrugged.
“I’m probably pregnant again,” I mumbled, acting like it was no big deal. Frank’s eyes got wide.
“What now?” he asked. I nodded and sighed.

“Can I see my baby yet?” I asked, looking at the nurse as she entered the room. She smiled at me.
“Your husband is going to get him as we speak,” she said in cheery voice. I smiled and played with the hospital band on my left wrist and waited for Frank. Helena walked in, smiling from ear to ear.
“Hi Mom!” Helena exclaimed. I waved lazily. Just then, Frank came in, with our son in his arms.
“Look Mommy. Look who’s here!” Frank cooed, placing our son safely in my arms. I cooed, and cuddled my new, small, sleeping baby. My daughter sat next to me on the bed.
“So....what’s his name?” she asked, looking from him to Frank.
“Adien,” I smiled. She smiled, and hugged me. Frank joined in the hug. Again, if only for a moment before Frank had to leave again, Helena becomes distant, and I lose all sleep, we were a happy family.
