Patience

The year was 1989. Guns N Roses were superstars and every girl wanted to be with one of the guys. Y ou can imagine how hard it was for me then. Let me introduce myself-I'm Callie and I'm the current girlfriend with none other than the famous Izzy Stradlin.

I'm not going to lie-we didn't have a perfect relationship but come on who doesn't have their ups and downs,too? Why were we still together when he could have any woman he wanted? I asked myself that question several times and I decided that I'd ask Izzy.

He was always on tour or in the studio recording albums. The more famous they got the less I got to see him. In the beginning I was really happy for him because he was so passionate and talented that it would have been a shame if he couldn't show it to the world.

The band were in the studio recording G N' R Lies so you can guess how "much" I was able to see Izzy. But I could never take away his dream because of my doubts. That would be so selfish. Besides after a lot of thinking I came to the conclusion that after 3 years together we must be doing something right. Even when he was busy he could feel when something wasn't right and then he stayed with me,hugging me closely and telling me how much he loves me. So, yeah, we weren't together everday like the other couples but that didn't matter. Because the moments when we were together were so special that I would't trade them for anything.Like this day:

I had just woken up. It was about 9 a.m. I headed down to the kitchen to get some breakfast when I heard Izzy playing his guitar. The melody was so beautiful-it was slow, yet very intimate - just like our relationship.

I decided to surprise him so I tippy-toed to the couch- right behid him. I leaned to his ear and whispered:

-Good morning, love!

He jumped a little but then he pulled me on the couch. He put his guitar aside and left me to lay on his lap.

-Good moring to you, too darlin'! Sleep well?

-Yeah but it was pretty lonesome without you. - I said sincerely.

- I know Callie...but I have a surprise for you. - Izzy replied smiling.

-Oh and what is it? - I asked curiously.

-Well I wrote a song for you...took me 2 hours-actually I wrote it today while I was waiting for my sleepin beauty to wake up.

-Aww, Izzy you're so sweet. I don't know what to say...

-All I need to hear is I love you. - he said looking at me with those gorgeous hazel eyes.

- I love you so much, Izzy! - I said while getting up from his lap and kissing him gently.

-I love you,too Callie! Those words kept me strong while I wasn't with you.So now let me show you how much you really mean to me.

He took his guitar and started playing the melody I heard earlier but this time he sang the lyrics to it.

I was speechless. It was so beautiful, so sincere, so personal. I could hardly hold back my tears of happiness.

He smiled at my reaction and kissed me gently. Then he hugged my tightly whispering how much he loved me and thanked me for being always supportive.

I finally had the answer I needed. We were still together because we had love and patience.
