Just Like Heaven

Cocky

Mikey's fingers brushed up and down my bare back, as we laid in my bed. I had my arms around him, my head rested in his chest, listening to his heart softly pump. I never felt so close to a man before in my life; not even my own dad, or my brother. I like having Mikey as my own, because I've always wanted a man to want me. Is it such a shame to want to be take care of and protected by a man?

In my life, guys weren't all that particularly nice to me. I took it in stride and kept my head up, as I said before. When I realized all this, that I had someone who wanted me just as much as I wanted them, it made me tear up.

Out of all the things! I never, ever cry, never! It takes a lot to make me cry; like Titanic on my period type cry.

"M, are you crying?" Mikey asked as he tilted and looked down at me.

I nodded, "Sorry." I had gotten tears on his chest.

He wrapped his arms around me, "Don't apologize. Why are you crying?"

"I dunno." I lied.

He looked down at me, he pulled me up closer so I would face him, "What's wrong?"

I shrugged, "You're gonna think I'm crazy."

"No I won't." He smiled, and I couldn't help but smile back.

"I just realize how much I really care for you."

Mikey gave me a confused look, "That's why you were crying?"

I nodded, "Yeah. I never liked a guy as much as I like you. I never really loved anyone before."

Mikey smiled and kissed me, "I'm glad I'm the first then."

"I'm really serious, Mikes," I told him, "I don't even think I love my dad as much as I love you."

Again, he looked confused, and sat up. He pulled me onto his lap, letting me straddled him. He put his hands on my hips, then looked me over.

"You sound as if nobody has ever love you before." Mikey said.

"No one ever has." I told him.

He tilted his head at me, as if he were looking for a way to tell if I was telling the truth; "No one's ever loved you?"

"No. I've always been like a ghost...I guess." I shrugged, "I was just there."

"That why you don't talk to your parents?"

"No, they just don't call...my mom does, to see if I fucked up yet, and when I haven't, she waits a couple weeks to call back."

He had a sad look on his face now, "I'm sorry, M."

"It's okay, you don't have to say that. I've been alright with it."

"What about your brother? Do they treat him different?"

"They love Brendan, he was the all-star in school and he was good at everything. He's a lot older than me, y'know, so when I started school, he had a lot of things going on in middle school, and I had to just...wait it out." I explained.

"You didn't do the sport thing?"

I shook my head, "I tried ballet, but my mom could never remember to take me to the practices or buy me to correct outfit." I sighed, "So I gave up on extra curricular activities," I laughed softly, "I was just the nice kid in school that people never noticed."

"That was me, too."

I looked at him, tilting my head like he had done, "Why do you hate your mom so much?"

"She...took Alicia's side when she left me." Mikey answered slowly, "My mom supported her, than me, when she left me, by myself, in Jersey."

"That can't be all," I said to him, "there's something else to it."

"My mom always takes someone's side over mine. And she's always so critical about what I do, and how I do things. You know why I'm really pissed off at her?" I shook my head, "She's the one that sent Alicia after me, 6 months ago, when Gerard told her I was seeing you."

I frowned slightly, "She doesn't like me?"

"My mom doesn't know you well enough to make a righteous judgement. She just wants me to be with Alicia, even though she supported her to leave me."

I saw the anger build up in Mikey's eyes, I threw my arms around his neck and hugged him. I kissed and pulled him over in the bed with me. He was on top of me again, his lips broke from mine as he looked down at me.

"Don't be mad anymore." I said to him, "Just ignore it, it'll go away."

He smiled, tiredly at me, "I'll try."

"Will you stay with me tonight?"

He nodded, "Yeah, I will."

"I got work in the morning, I don't even want to go." I mumbled.

"Call in sick, stay in bed with me." He gave me a cheeky smile.

"I might just do that." I grinned happily.

"Might?"

"Well, Mikey, I can't just abandon my poor little post."

He chuckled, "For one day you can." He kissed my lips, and moved down my neck.

"If you're start that again, and I'm gonna miss work, you have to go get the condoms."

He groaned, "I'm too tired." His voice was muffled at the crook of my neck.

"Well, I'm not going."

He let out another groan, "Come with me, we can get ice cream."

I giggled, "Alright, alright. Just because I want some ice cream."

"You want sex with me, liar." He looked up at me with a grin.

"Don't get cocky."

"Too late."

After a quick shower, Mikey and I drove to the drug store. He kept his arm around my shoulder, nearly hiding me under his arm and close to his side. Mikey is considerably taller than me, and I felt protected under him like this.

"It's like I'm a baby bird, and you're my mama."

Mikey looked down at me and laughed, "Baby bird and I'm your mama? Really?"

"Yeah...or my papa; protecting me from harm." I tightened my arm around his waist.

We walked into the drug store, heading down the familiar isles. As we walked, I remember that I needed some things. I groaned at myself for not bringing my purse.

"Could you spot me ten?" I asked him as we got towards the makeup.

Mikey laughed, "Spot you ten?"

"I forgot my purse, and I need some stuff. So yes, Mikes, spot me  ten and give it to you when we get back." I patted his cheek as he just smirked at me.

He grabbed onto my wrist and followed, "Don't worry about it, Morgan. What do you need?"

"Maybe I should get this stuff tomorrow, since you aren't letting me go work." I joked.

He brushed up against my back side and whispered in my ear, "Hey, you aren't leaving the apartment at all, got that?"

I bit at my lip, my stomach tossed uncomfortably, "Ugh, why do you do that?"

"Do what?" He was back in my ear.

"That!"

He kissed my cheek, "Don't you love it?"

I grinned like an idiot, "Sometimes."

Again, he smirked, "Sometimes? Nah, I think you like it all the time, babe."

I scoffed, "Babe."

He pulled me to his side, "What do you need?"

"Nail polish remover, cotton balls, and toilet paper."

Mikey laughed, "That's it?"

"Yeah, well, I have this cute pink nail polish that I want to do on my toes." I told him, "You don't have to be so snarky about it."

He still smirked, "I don't care what color your toes are."

"I do." I patted his cheek, "Now, come on, you're wasting precious love making time."

Mikey laughed and followed me down the isles.

When we got to said condoms we came for, Mikey looked at them up and down. He acted as of he didn't know what to get. I raised my brow at him; "What's the problem?"

"Which ones do I get?" He asked.

"Whichever ones fit you." I giggled.

"M, I know that, I mean...like what brand. Which one do you like?"

"Well, I like the ones that keep me from getting knocked up."

Mikey laughed this time, "Alright, fine. I'm getting the flavored kind."

I raised my brow, once more, at him, "Why?"

"You'll see." He put them in the basket, "You like the ribbed ones?"

I couldn't help but burst out in laughter. I couldn't stop it, it all seemed so hilarious at how weird he was acting. He had taken hold of my shoulders, and stopped me from my fit, "Why are laughing?"

"Do I like the ribbed ones?" I said, giggling harder.

"Hey, I'm trying!" He said, trying to keep from laughing.

"Mikey, I don't care what kind they are," I kissed his cheek, "just get what you usually get and let's go."

He grabbed another box and tossed it in the basket I was holding, and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
