We got Nothing Left to do so Wipe the Dirt Off
Supercoss
I’m in my office talking to Mitch about the season. Nate comes in and sits down in the seat. I smile and pat his hand since he can’t really walk throughout the house yet in one trip. He moves himself to his desk. I hang up after Mitch agrees to let me have the Europe season off. I go over to Nate and he pulls me on his lap.
“How is he taking it?” Nate asks.
“Good. He didn’t know how serious it was when you first got hurt. He has been supportive since. I’m number 74 and three now.”
Nate laughs and kisses my forehead.
“You are going to be number one again at one point,” Nate said.
“Maybe.”
Nate looks at me.
“What is it?” Nate asks.
“I’m really not feeling motocross anymore. There is so much going on in Europe that is horrible for my personal safety.”
Nate kisses my forehead and my phone rings. I grab it and see its Mitch.
“I seriously just got off the phone with you. Why are you calling me again,” I yell at it.
“It be ok,” Nate said.
“I need to cook lunch.”
“It’s going to be ok.”
“Hello,” I said.
“I know we just got done talking about you having till July off but I got a thing from Monster Supper Cross and they want you to do the races,” Mitch said.
“Mitch I don’t want to ride especially in January.”
Nate holds a paper up and it said Supercross. I nod my head. Nate takes the phone.
“Hold on Mitch,” Nate said.
He set the phone down and pushes us away from the desk.
“Rose it’s Supercross. You have to do it. They won’t understand,” Nate said.
“I haven’t been on a bike since your crash. It’s been months," I told Nate.
“Baby its fine. You never lose it. I saw you ride the first time after you got on it from your leg. You can be on point on a bike in a week. Do it since you got a week and a half till the first race."
“What about you? You can't drive yourself to rehab that is Four days a week.”
“We figure something out about me so you can train. I can walk around safely. I know when I need to take a break."
“I can’t leave you home alone for weekends. I can’t handle that with you being not fully able. I’m afraid about you crashing again.”
I sigh and cuddle up in his chest.
“Move us to the phone,” Nate said.
I push us to the phone and lay my head his neck. He grabs it and pushs a button.
“Hey Mitch,” Nate said.
“Yeah.”
“Can she just take on two Anaheim races?”
“Yeah just saying no to this is going to.”
“Cause her to be shut out of this ever again?”
“Yeah is that fine?”
“Yeah what is my number?” I ask.
“74 still.”
“Ok so just two races?”
“Four," Mitch said.
“What?”
“There is LA which is not that much further and San Diego."
“Yeah I guess.”
“If Nate is in a chair still for the days our haul is the best for that. We can see about you getting an RV or something ok? It's Four days of work."
“Thanks Mitch.”
“No problem. This is big Rose.”
“I know, I know.”
“Bye.”
Nate hangs the phone up.
“I’m doing Supercross,” I said.
“I know. You dream about this.”
I sigh and look at Nate.
“I want to have more women in Super cross. I want to do nationals,” I said.
I pout and Nate kisses my forehead.
“You need to get more exposure and get more people to like you before you do that,” Nate told me.
I nod my head and kiss his cheek.
“Need help on the couch?” I ask.
“No I got it.”
I smile and get up and grab my phone. I go in the kitchen and start making lunch Nate comes with some graph paper. I smile and he makes a scheduled for me to ride and get all my food times on it. Nate kisses my forehead.
“When are you getting shoes?” Nate asks.
I smile and kiss Nate’s lips.
“I got it while you went to therapy yesterday,” I said.
“I should have figured that one out. .”
I kiss his lips.
“I love my shoes ok,” I said.
“I know love.”
I smile at Nate and look down back to cooking and see my engagement ring.
“When do you want to get married now?” I ask.
“You want to just wait around a year so it’s the same thing as before even the time?”
“Not really.”
Nate looks at me.
“What was wrong with the wedding you planned the first time?” Nate asks.
“I looked through it and hated it all. I wanted to please everyone," I mutter out.
“There are just two people you need to please," I asks.
“Two?”
“Yes.”
“Who?”
“You and Me.”
“What about purple?”
“What?”
“I like purple. It's my favorite color.”
“That can be nice."
“Really? Not blue or green?”
“Truly the color of stuff doesn’t matter to me.”
“But.”
“As long as they don’t clash.”
“You know very little of that from your gear you wear. It’s so bright.”
“Ok I will let you pick my gear.”
“Show me the gloves fist.”
“I’m going to get shit from the guys for having my wife involved with everything.
“So during our seasons or during yours?”
“I don’t know if I can do the first things of X-fighters.”
“You can do it. You have gotten so far in almost a week.”
I kiss his cheek and hand him the plate before sitting next to him.
“How is he taking it?” Nate asks.
“Good. He didn’t know how serious it was when you first got hurt. He has been supportive since. I’m number 74 and three now.”
