“Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one's head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no to-morrow. To forget time, to forgive life, to be at peace.” - Oscar Wilde

Two brothers in rural Missouri during the mid-1980s make friends with the banker's son, and plan a hiking trip through the woods, which ends with a tragedy concealed by the younger brother Dave. Deception and guilt follows him three years into the future, eating him away, until one night he goes off the deep end, and begins a road to revealing the truth about the hiking trip to his brother. Through his internal battle of moral duty and love for his brother, and longing to forgive himself, he is terrified to lose the only person he truly has.
