A Grand Affair, For a Beautiful Disaster

Part 2

Picking up the pieces is no easy task...

Her dress still sparkling in the dim lights, and the tears gleaming as the stream down her face
What started out as a night of passion fueled anger, turned into confusion and saddness
After his fire fueled kiss and her collapse, it seemed like everything fell to pieces
The flowing velvet drapes suddenly burst into flames, and the boring man that she set out to prove her point to
Lost his life force that no one ever expects to just stop
As panic over took the wall hangers and the percision dancers, she just stood there
Holding him in her small arms, his lifeless face pale as death rushed through his body
Her world had fallen apart and went up in flames after one last rage fueled kiss
Their love was full of passion, anger, and lust
His habits were known but she knew no one like him, the suave demeanor left her breathless 90% of the time
She was simple, independent and witty, but when she found this one, everything in her simple mind fell apart
He expanded her mind, encouraged her talents, and made her feel like a goddess
As time went on his habits grew more prominent, and his taste for the high life (and moonshine) began to rise
He only kissed her when he returned from the grand parties and conferences he found his way into
What once was a passion fueled romance, turned into a ghost town with the occasional day of silence
Her patience finally ran out and the creative, vengeful side struck a deal
A saved penny here and there bought her that mint green gown that caught the eyes of every person
At the grand affair, where she found him on his shimmering thrown
The mask was the finishing touch, highlighting her cheek bones and the glimmer in her emerald eyes

Picking up the pieces of a broken spirit took everything in her
No matter how angry he made her, that boring man was all she ever wanted
Although he appeared boring compared to the elegance of the party goers that attended
He was the most gentlemanly man she had ever encountered
Now that he was gone, she went back to the simple minded mentality that she knew all too well
But one characteristic that he brought to her never left
Making sure she took the attention of everyone in a room, having that confidence that no one could have
And a small heart tattoo on her left wrist, to remind her of the fire fueled love that used to burn inside her
