Yesterday, after I walked out on my dad, he went over Ella's house looking for me. She kept telling me he looked truly sorry, but I ignored her. I'm done with my father. I didn't even want to speak about it, but Oli got me talking on the way home.
At least it was a distraction from my other worry-leaving him, this boy I barely know who I'm falling for so hard, this kid who makes me feel alive. I wouldn't have asked to live with him if I wasn't so desperate to stay away from my dad. Ella's house isn't safe now. He'll look for me there. Oli just smiled and let me stay.
