Frist Dance (Crishtofer Drew Ingle Love Story)

Chapter Seven: New Student

"Miranda, the new kid is so hot!"

"O-M-G, Hannah, did you see that new kid in my history class?"

"TIFFANY, THERE'S A NEW GUY!"

That's all the girls talked about outside of school the next morning. New kid? Who? I

walked into the building and straight into a crowd of girls, looking bright-eyed and

boy-crazed. I swear, the levels of estrogen punched me in the face as soon as I

walked through the door.Π

Thea punched her way through the crowd. She looked like Pacman, and all the girls

were little white dots. Except she wasn't eating anyone and there were no ghosts.

"What's going on?" I shouted over all the screaming. Thea and I were both pinched

against the door while all the other girls fought and screamed. Finally our principal,

Mr. Druner, told everyone to get to class over the P.A. system. Everyone went

"AWWW" and started to break up.

"There's this GORGEOUS new guy. I've taken the time to find his scheduels," Thea

said, pulling something out of her bag.

She handed me a white lined paper which had a list of classes on it. Whoever this

new kid was, he was in my chemistry and math class.

"Stalker, much?" I asked and handed the paper back to her.

She shrugged and said, "Whatever. All I know is, me and him have chemistry

together." She stared somewhere in the distance for a second.

"And me..." I reminded her. She looked at me and nodded, but then went back to her

daydream. I'm sure it was shattered when the bell rang.

The agony of not knowing who this new guy was wouldn't last much longer;

chemistry was first today.

Thea and I walked into my chemistry class just as the bell rang. Every girl in the

class was huddled up in a little corner, like they were hiding something. The rest of

the boys were tapping their pencils impatiently, obviously jealous. Thea and I took

our normal seats and listened to the whispering just as the teacher walked in.

"Okay, okay, settle down," Ms. Greene started. "First I want to introduce our new

student here at Loveland High, Christofer!"

All the girls squealed and the boys made funny faces. My stomach flipped.

Christofer...No! It can't be the Christofer, right? That's just--

And then he stood up, making his way to the front of the room. Thea poked my

shoulder.

Christofer turned around and smiled, the same smile I saw when we were dancing.

"Please, tell us about yourself, sweetie." Ms. Greene was around 29 years old; I've

heard of teachers dating their students, and the way she said 'sweetie' made me

wonder if she'd end up on 'To Catch A Predator'.

"Well, I'm Christofer Drew Ingle but, please just call me Chris." I did a little gasp as if

my eyes had been playing tricks on me before. Thea giggled.

"Well it's very nice to meet you, Christofer," Ms. Greene smiled. I love how she

didn't let him finish talking about himself, I thought. She told him to take his seat in

the back. On his way there, he winked at me. I looked at Thea, hoping she didn't

catch it. Thankfully, she was doodling on her notebook.

"You must be happy," she mummbled.

"Not really," I shrugged. I was kind of telling the truth...kinda. Thea laughed and

punched my shoulder playfully. The girls in the back continued to glare at Chris like

he was some movie star.

"...Uh, no? Well actually, I'm sitting with my friends," I heard him say over girlie

banter. I automatically thought of myself as being one of his friends. I turned to see

that Ms. Greene was one of the girls falling all over him.

Now, you're probably like, "UHG, there must be way hotter guys in Loveland then

that!" Well you're wrong. There aren't alot of boys most girls would consider hot or

even cute. Not even decent. One of the only cute boys would be Joe, Thea's

boyfriend. Sometimes I wonder how she managed to be the girl to snag him; not

that she wasn't attractive herself, it's just alot of girls were waiting to fill her

position.

Ms. Greene started class about a bajillion years later. Specifically, right before the

bell rang. I was happy with that because I hadn't done any homework, and that gave

me another night to do it all.

After a couple of classes, it was lunch. Before I even walked fully into the lunch

room, Christofer had already sat down with Thea and Joe. I took and seat next to

them and smiled.

"Hey, guys," I said pushing my chair in.

"Hey," they said at the same time. After a few minutes of random talking and filling

in, I decided apologize for hanging up on Christofer.

"Uh...I'm sorry. For hanging up on you. Very sorry," I said without actually looking at

him.

"It's alright," he giggled. "I wasn't sure what to say, anyway."

We all talked about the October Kick-Off dance that was coming up.

I entered the conversation lightly, as if I would come up with a date.
