The Dog Days Are Over

1/1

Steadfast in her graces, she runs, she runs away from here, she runs away from there, she escapes the memories before they can find her, she flees from the pain as it tries to make its face known again. It’s not going to work this time, she makes sure of that, there’s no bringing her down this time. All the weights are following too closely behind but they are no threat anymore, at least, they won’t be anymore.

The dog days are done, she knows that, she’s running, she’s going to escape it. If not today, if not tomorrow, if not next week, she’ll get there eventually. She knows it, it’s burning within her, so hot that she can barely contain it but she knows she’s on the winning side this time. The dog days are over.

They’re fucking over.
