Wildflowers

Contagious chemistry.

"Hey..." Josh spoke grabbing Greyson's hand and pulling her to a stop so the others would pass them by.

Her green eyes met his and he gave her a soft grin, "It's going to be ok."

"You say that Josh, but you know my mom, she is serious."

He sighed and cupped her face, "Well you can't marry him."

"And I can't lose everything I've worked so hard for either." She mumbled and he dropped his hands from her, "So, what does this mean?"

She bit her lip as she gave him a shrug unsure what to say. She didn't know what to do.

"I could you know, marry him, finish school, divorce him."

He groaned and ran his hand down his face, "Please tell me you're joking."

She breathed in as her eyes began to water. She really had no other choice. If she had a job, somewhere else to stay, things would be different, but she didn't.

"I don't know what else to do." She choked out and he instanty washed his anger away, "I know, ok? I know." He whispered pulling her to him. He swore he'd fix this he just didn't know how yet.

"Look, I have a plan."

"Ok. What?" She whispered and he kissed her forehead, "Tell your mom you're going to marry him so she won't cut you off ok? But I'm going to find a way out of this before it actually takes place." He said so seriously.

He wouldn't rest until she was out of this mess. He wouldn't be able to. He swore he would make sure she was happy since he came back in her life and so far she had been everything but that.

"But..." she started to say and he cut her off instantly, "No. No buts. Do you hear me? None. I promised and I'm going to get you out of this." He said grasping her hands in his.

"It's not your place to do that Josh." She said trying not to cry like she felt like doing.

He stifled a laugh, "Yes it is. Do you not get it? I love you and I'm only happy when you're with me."

She gave him a weak grin and laid her head against his chest.

"So, is that going to be ok?"

"It will have to be because I want to be with you." She whispered and a grin hit his lips, "Good."

She pulled back to look at the blue eyed boy and he kissed her not caring who was around witnessing it.

"So, I have to like, pretend to like Blaine..." she said with a frown once realization hit her.

He sighed, "Yeah, guess so, huh?" He said realizing the idea of her having to kiss Blaine disturbed him more than he thought. This clearly was not a thought out plan...

"Fine..."

"It'll be worth it. You won't be married and we can be together." He said seriously as he kissed her hand.

"I know. I'm just not good at pretending..."

He laughed, "I thought lying was your new hobby?" He teased as he drug her to his car.

"Crap. I forgot."

He laughed and kissed her cheek, "You can do it. Just remember what it's for." He whispered before he opened the door. He'd have to remind himself of that as well.

"Do I have to tell her today?" She asked him as she stared out the window of his car.

"It's up to you when you do it, love." He stated grabbing her hand from her lap.

"Just one more normal night with you first."

"There will be plenty of normal nights with me. Trust me." He said giving her hand a squeeze as he drove to her place. He assumed Kacy would be out with Max for a bit now and he was glad because he honestly wanted alone time with Greyson with no interruptions for once.

"Josh?" She said as he led her to the door.

"What, love?" He asked holding out his hand for her house key. She chuckled and maneuvered around him turning the knob and pushing the door in.

"Seriously? That's not safe." He said sternly and she laughed as she pulled him in.

"I'm serious Grey, don't do that shit. Do you guys leave it unlocked at night?"

"Someone is paranoid." She joked as he followed her to her room.

"Uh, yeah. You're right. Sorry I don't want you to come up missing or dead."

She laughed and he glared at her as she kicked her shoes off and fell back onto her bed.

"Ok, ok. I'm sorry. I'll lock it tonight." She said and he sighed before crawling beside her.

"I don't want to have to worry at night if my bird is getting abducted, ok?" He whispered against her lips as his arms wrapped around her waist.

"They'd bring me back."

"Ha! Bullocks. I wouldn't." He said kissing her sweetly.

"You're the exception."

He rolled his eyes, "Just lock your bloody door. Ok?"

"Ok, ok." Sh grumbled although she found his protective side adorable. She liked how she felt safe with him and how she knew he'd do whatever he needed to for her to feel that way.

He grinned and pecked her lips, "Good lil bird."

She rolled her eyes and he laughed, "Oh just the reaction I expected."

"Yeah, yeah." She mumbled brushing his hair back from his face. He couldn't help but stare at her as she did so. He loved her more than he thought possible. The feeling he had around her was something he couldn't even describe. The only word he could use to come close was; amazing and even that seemed dull.

"What?" She whispered and he shook his head, "Nothing, you're just beautiful is all..."

A blush hit her cheeks and he brought his hand to her hair, "...and I love you."

"I love you too."

He kissed her cheek and fell onto his side, pulling her to him as he did so.

"Everything will be just fine. Just wait and see." He whispered.

"Can't we just like, runaway?"

He chuckled, "I would love that, but I'm afraid not."

"Bummer." She mumbled as she looked into his blue eyes.

"Just you and me would be nice." He whispered and she noodded in agreeance.

He touched his forehead to hers and closed his eyes.

"I'm scared." She admitted and his grasp tightened on her, "Don't be. Nothing to be scared of my love." He whispered. He wanted to make her feel better, but a part of him was just as worried as she was. What if he couldn't make this go away? What if she was forced to marry that idiot? No. He couldn't afford to think like that right now.

She clung to him as he rubbed her back softly. He wasn't tired, but simply laying with her made him feel better. He liked holding her, kissing her when he could and she didn't object to such actions.

"Next time don't agree to marry someone just because the ring is pretty." He joked and she let out a laugh, "Definitely didn't do that."

"Then I don't understand..."

She sighed, "I liked him until you got back."

"So, if I wouldn't have showed up you would have married him?"

"Yeah, I'm sure."

"I swear, you make me so bloody mental. If I would have came home and you were married I don't know what I would have done." He whispered.

"Well good thing you manned up a little."

He rolled his eyes, "Whatever."

She kissed him quickly and he ran his hand into her hair, "But you clearly are meant for me." He whispered and she just stared into his blue eyes. She most definitely agreed.

He kissed her again, this time not holding back. Her hand grasped his arm as his tongue entered her mouth. He didn't understand how the girl could make him so crazy with just one kiss.

"Ok. Fuck. We have got to stop that. You drive me mad." He said finally finding the will to pull away.

"Why do we have to stop?" She asked and he ran his hand over his cheek. Of course he didn't want to stop, but like he said before, he wasn't going to let it happen like this.

She surprisingly pulled him back to her and kissed him once more. Well, he tried. He couldn't force her away nor would he try. He ran his hand up her side and kissed down her neck.

"You never make things easy." He whispered, grabbing her shirt before gently tugging it off her body. Excitement now over powered any other feeling he was having. Yes, he had seen her in say a bathing suit, but nevr less. He kissed down her chest taking in the feeling of her soft skin and her breathing. He trailed kisses down her stomach as his hands ran up her arms. He was too happy for words right now, the thought of being with her sent shivers up his back. He finally reached behind her and grabbed the clasp of her bra, "Are you sure?" He asked shamefully. He hated sounding like a girl, but he loved her too much to not ask. He truthfully only wanted what she wanted no matter if the raging boy inside of him was telling him otherwise.

The girl nodded confidently and he kissed her lips, "I love you." He whispered seriously.

He had always dreamed of this happening. Not in the peverted way like he assumed most guys would, but in the fact that he loved her and he didn't know how else to show her exactly how much.

She on the other hand didn't want him to think she was doing this because she was still upset because if
anything that was far from the truth. She loved him as much as he loved her.

And sure, he had been with other people, she had as well, but in the moment he found himself more timid than ever before. He couldn't help but do everything differently with her. He made sure to be gentle with every touch he placed on her and although he wasn't the type to worry about much, for some reason he felt the need to do everything right with her. Everything that made sex more than just sex. He had never made love to someone before, but he assumed it was more than the quick sex he had experienced in past relationships. Then again when had he ever put this much thought into it? See, she changed him. Not even 30 days back in her presence and he was changed back to the guy she made him be. The guy he actually had grown fond of. She never knew the different Josh then the one that was around her, but he had a feeling if she did he wouldn't like him as much. He had been completely lost without her in his life and he wasn't proud of what he had become. He kissed down her neck as her eyes shut quickly in bliss. Only Josh's touch could make her feel this way and she was ashamed that she had wasted so much time on boys before him.

"I love you." He whispered before dragging his lips over her shoulder. She shivered beneath him and he pulled off his shirt.

"I love you too." She finally spoke back and he threw his shirt to the floor before kissing her lips gently.

"Let me make love to you Grey." He whispered rubbing her side as their noses touched. She tried to compose herself from the contact, but all she could do was simply nodded in response.

"If you want me to stop, I'll stop." He added because he did not want her in any way to feel pressured.

"No." She whispered and his eyes locked with hers, "Ok. I know I keep sounding pathetic saying that, you just, you mean a lot to me Grey and I don't want you to do something you don't want to do or to regret it later because as stupid as it sounds that would kind of hurt me..." he mumbled and she pulled him down to her. She couldn't help but smile because that sounded like such a typical Josh comment.

"I've never regretted anything with you." She said seriously and he shrugged, "I know, just saying..."

"Plus, I kind of love you."

He chuckled, "Good."

She kissed him passionately and the rest was history.

Afterwards he held her to him as his mind raced with what this meant to her. He now, more than ever, knew he had to do whatever it took to keep her away from Blaine.

"Grey..." he whispered and she mumbled to let him know she was still up.

"One day I'm going to be able to support us and you will never have to depend on your mother or anyone else ever again." He said seriously and she raised up to look at him.

He sighed and she brought her hand to his cheek, "Everything will be fine."

"What if it's not? I don't want you to have to quit school, but I don't want you to marry him."

"Maybe I can get a job?"

"And pay for college and an apartment on a part time job?"

she shrugged and I brushed her hair back.

"Can we just not talk about it?" She whispered and he nodded, "Ok. No more. Sorry."

She shook her head and buried her face against his chest.

"I love you." She mumbled and he held on to her tighter, "I know love and I love you and we will figure this out."

"Ok." She whispered and he kissed her head. After a few more hours of just cuddling and kissing he forced himself to leave so she could call her mom.

He got home in a haze of happiness and when he walked in his mom looked up from where she sat with a stern look.

"What?" He asked bringing himself out of his daze.

"So I got a call from Greyson's mom."

"You know what mum? I don't bloody care. That woman is horrible and I love Greyson and she loves me and she is not going to marry some bloke just because she wants her to!" He said throwing his hands up in the process.

"Chill out. I'm not disagreeing. The woman is insane. She told me I needed to keep you away from Greyson and I told her I couldn't do that." His mom said and he let out a sigh, "Yeah well, it doesn't matter. The situation is so screwed up..." he mumbled before he spilled the whole story to her.

"And now I don't know what to do because I feel like I can't protect her because I can't just take her away and make this better." He said painfully as he paced the floor.

"I keep promising I'll fix this, but the truth is I don't know how. She's going to marry him and I don't know how to stop it. I should've went to bloody school and got a real job and..."

"Josh!" She said loudly and he sighed as he looked up at her with sad eyes.

"We will figure it out."

"There is nothing to figure out...I failed her again, mum." He whispered and she rolled her eyes, "No you did not. Look, she can move in here, get a part time job to pay for school and she won't have to worry about anything else."

"That sounds great, but convincing her of that is the thing..."

"Try unless you want her to marry him."

He sighed and fell onto the couch, "...fine."

She was right. He had to at least try. Afterall, this wasn't just a girl it was Greyson. His Greyson. The girl he loved and he'd be damned if he lost her again.
