Funeral

The end.

The memories of what could have been flashed past her eyes like a movie. Never would her mother see her graduate high school. Never would her mother see her get married. No, it ate her away. Her mother was gone and all she could see was the illusion before her. It couldn’t be real; the funeral home, the fake plants, the incandescing lights illuminating her mother’s corpse. She screamed to heaven and hell begging for mercy. But an invisible force gripped her very soul and tormented her with sadness.
Physically, she left the room.
Spiritually, she died in that room.

True story.
Lost my mom last year.
Finally had the balls to write down how I felt.
Constructive criticism would be much appreciated.
