“Mycroft I do not see why you called us both over here. I told you, I will not take another of your cases. Solve them yourself” Sherlock Holmes turned his back on his brother and started to leave with his faithful companion John Watson at his heels. Mycroft let out a sigh and pushed himself up from his seat “it’s about a Lauren Smith” Sherlock froze in his steps and John skidded to a stop before he bumped into him. “That’s got your attention” he could hear the amusement in his brother’s voice
“What about her?” Sherlock asked still facing away, John meanwhile just looked between the brothers confused on how the female meant anything “she hasn’t been murdered has she?” John was surprised to hear Sherlock’s voice sound even remotely worried as he turned and stalked up to lean on his brother’s desk while his brother sank back down into his seat and shook his head
“She’s missing”
“Thousands of people go missing why single her out?”
“Because I thought you might want to make sure she gets home safe. Plus she’s one of MI6’s best field operatives. They would like her found as soon as possible. Preferably alive”
“I haven’t seen her in over seven years Mycroft why would I care” Mycroft scoffed
“Please Sherlock the two of you had been friends since you were in nappies, just because she joined MI6 doesn’t mean she wouldn’t do the same for you if you were in this situation” John’s eyebrows raised to his hairline when Mycroft used the word friend
“I don’t have friends” Sherlock growled
“Not anymore maybe”
“Besides I would be able to get myself out of a situation like that”
“Don’t you have a heart Sherlock?”
“I’ve been reliably informed that I don’t.” Sherlock spun on his heal. “You’re right Mycroft. I know her. I know her like the back of my hand”
“And?”
“I know she wouldn’t get kidnapped”
“But she has! Sherlock, she has!”
“She once told me that she dreamed of running away and getting married.”
“Sherlock when she said that she was twelve.”
“Another thing I know about her is that she always follows her dreams and fulfils them.”
“Oh for goodness sake Sherlock! That has nothing to do with it.”
“I think Sherlock had a crush...” john butted in.
“You sound jealous” a mysterious female voice said.
“Lauren!” Sherlock whispered
“Yes that’s right Shercock”
“Why didn’t I ever think of that” john muttered to himself.
“I told you not to call me that. It upset mummy.” Sherlock said he scowled
“Oh Sherlock don’t act like you cared. You don’t care about anyone.” Lauren strutted through the door. She was dressed in black. Sherlock’s eyes were drawn to the large rock on her finger.
“I was right”
“Yes you were... You were always so smart.”
“Who?”
“None of your business.”
“It is,”
“Uh uh”
“Lauren.”
“James”
“What?”
“Moriarty he sends his regards”
“Why? Was it to get revenge on me?”
“Well yes”
“I hardly did anything.”
“Sherlock please you led me on”
“You just got the wrong idea.”
“No I didn’t. I should have known you were some sort of monk.”
“How’s he a monk?” john butted in.
“Well think about it.”
“Hello? I am here you know” Mycroft said
“And?” she muttered stuck in a glaring contest with Sherlock
“Well there was the fact that you were meant to have been kidnapped” she just scoffed and turned to John
“Who’re you?” she asked
“I’m John Watson” the man stuck out a hand for her to shake but she just looked at him for a second before she turned to Mycroft
“Okay well you can tell them that I’m fine”
“And that you’re married?”
“Don’t know, what do you think would happen if they found out I was married to Moriarty?” she sat on his desk and craned her head round to look at him
“Well I do believe that you’ll lose your job and might even be stalked for the rest of your life”
“Hmm let me think. No I think I’d prefer it if you didn’t tell them. But I really don’t care. The jobs boring as hell” she yawned mockingly before she jumped down “now I’m gonna go if you don’t mind. I was in the middle of my honeymoon when I thought I’d stop by” she flashed them a grin before she walked out the door.
