Bring Me to Life.

I was in my closet tearing through clothes, trying to find something for my date. I was so nervous, no one had ever done anything thing like this for me, it’s like a fairytale. I keep taking breaks to sigh in amazement.

“You look so happy.” Maria said. “I am and I’m sorry about the rules I just…”

“You don’t have to explain.” She said. “No I do, I’ll just take out the graphic details.” I cleared my throat.

“Arthur and I were study one day and it led to kissing. When I was kissing him I started remembering all the things… my father…would do…to me.” I took a deep breath.

“Sweetheart…” “I freaked out on him; Arthur I mean and I wanted to apologize for my actions and show him that I do trust him and love him. In such a short time, he’s become my everything, you all have.” I smiled.

“That’s what happened. I disobeyed your rules and he was just being a guy.” I laughed lightly.

“I’m not mad at you. I was a teenager once, a long time.” She smiled.

“I love him more than anything. I never thought he would ever even look in my direction and now he’s planning a special date for me. I don’t deserve him.” I began to tear up.

“You two are so young and so much in love, it’s hard to believe how much you both love each other.” She said.

“Part of me is just waiting for me to wake up from this dream or for him to tell me this is all a joke.” I wiped the tears.

“That will never happen, so enjoy it. The love my grandson gives you, the family you now have, the safe home you live in.” Maria smiled.

“I haven’t had anything good happened to me since my mother died, I can’t lose him. I’ll die.” I whispered.

“How about I help you with your outfit and your hair and makeup.” She said. “I’d love that.” I smiled.

“Let’s get Vanya’s help.” Maria walked out. “OMG, you’re gonna look so beautiful when were done!” Vanya shouted.

“Should I wear a dress or a nice blouse and pants?” I looked back at my clothes. “Dress.” Vanya smiled.

“But I don’t have that many and none that are special enough for tonight.” I said. “I think have an outfit that is perfect. Vanya start the makeup and hair.” Maria got up.

“My brother is so sweet; I hope I have a boyfriend like him someday.” Vanya said. “Do you know what we’re doing?” I asked her.

“Nope sorry.” She said. “It’s ok.” I sighed.

“Here we are.” Maria showed me a beautiful, short, red cocktail dress. A strapless form fitting dress with crystals around the bust.

“It's gorgeous. I can’t wear this.” I told her. “You can and you will.” Maria said.

After everything was done, I looked great. I almost didn’t recognize myself in the mirror.

“You look great.” Vanya said. “Yeah almost worthy of your brother.” I smiled.

“Why must you say it like that? Like you weren’t worthy of him before.” She said. “It’s horrible that you’re so much smarter than me being this young.” I smiled.

“Stephan is here!” Maria called from downstairs. “I can see how Arturo fell in love with you.” He smiled.

“Thank you.” I smiled.

“Stephan, do you know what Arthur has planned?” I asked him. “Yes.” He smiled.

“And you’re not gonna tell me either?” I asked. “Nope.” He smiled wider as I sighed.

“I can’t, he’d kill me but what I can tell you is he really loves you.” He said. “You think so?” I asked.

“You don’t?” he asked in return. “I want to but he seems too good to be true. My life has been nothing but pain since my mother passed away and all of a sudden the guy I’ve been in love with for year finally notices me and he loves me too.” I wanted to cry again.

“Please don’t cry, Arturo will kill me.” He said and I laughed. “Don’t worry, its waterproof.” I smiled at him.

“Were almost there, you nervous?” he asked. “Yes, I can’t believe he went through some much trouble for me.” I said.

“Believe it.” He smiled.
