This Is Just A Bad Dream
Ribs
~1 month later~
I woke up to a sharp pain and I jolted Victor awake
“What? What’s wrong?” he asked
One of the babies was in my ribs again and they were pushing
“Go get Rei please” I whined
Victor jumped up and screamed for Rei to come quick. I laid back and tried to move but the baby just pushed more
“What? Oh damn. Ellie is the baby under your rib?” he asked
I nodded and he lifted my shirt up. I felt him pushing and then the baby moved back down and I could breathe
“Ugh who ever that was is trying to break my rib” I said opening my eyes
Rei huffed and fixed my shirt
“We forgot to show people that” Rei said
I peeked over at Victor and he looked confused
“As the twins grow their space gets limited and they move all around. One of them likes going under Ellie’s rib so you gotta kind of push whoever it is out” Rei said
Victor nodded sat back against the bed. Rei then remembered something and jumped up
“Victor we forgot something today and if we don’t do something ASAP the world will end” he said
I looked confused at both of them and then Victor jumped up cursing
“Fuck how we keep forget this! Every year” he growled
I sat up
“I may have mommy memory but someone refresh my memory to what being forgotten?” I ask
Rei smiles at me
“We forgot Mom and Samuel’s birthday. And yes she did have Sam on her birthday” he said
Victor came out of the closet with four presents and gave two to Rei
“The big one is Mom’s” he said Rei nodded
“The biggest one is always Moms” he said leaving the room
I got up slowly but my side hurt
“I’m gonna go talk to mom about this twins and limited space” I said
Victor crawled over to me and kissed me softly
“Ok Ellie belly” he said softly
I stood up and left his room walking down the hall and up another pair of stairs to Mom and Dad’s bedroom. I knocked softly and Dad called me in and I walked into their ginormous room
“God this room is bigger than a 2 bedroom apartment” I said
I held my side and crawled on to the big king size bed. Mom looked at me happily while Dad read a newspaper
“Mom did Rei and Victor ever crack one of your ribs?” I asked
She moved over to me and put her hand over mine
“Well no they just bruised my ribs when I got bigger. Why what happened?” she asked worried
I huffed and told her what happened and she lifted my shirt and felt where it hurt
“I think one of them might have bruised you. You said it was pushing up when you moved?” she asked
I nodded she patted my hand and helped me sit up near the head of the bed
“You are on bed rest today.” She said
I whined and Chad laughed rubbing my hand. A few moments later Sam come in the room and fell into mom’s lap
“Happy Birthday Mommy” he said
She laughed and rubbed his head
“Happy Birthday Honey” she said
Rei and Victor burst in a few moments later with presents and cake. Then Chad asked them to do a certain birthday dance
“Dad not in front of Ellie” they said at the same time
I giggled and shook my head at them
“Curly Crew let’s go!” Sam shouted
They both huffed and put everything down and then began dancing and singing happy birthday. I laughed so hard I could have bruised another rib and they finished the dance with a weird high five
“Wooooo!!!” Mom shouted
Rei and Vic lay on the bed out of breath and they lay shoulder to shoulder. I always find myself watching both of them because they always have these moments of complete sync and I don’t even think they notice it
“Ellie is on bed rest today one of the babies bruised her ribs” Mom said
Rei and Victor titled their heads back and looked at me frowning
“Can you guys stop being so twinny” Sam said
I laughed and shook my head
“I like when they act like twins. It gets me excited on how the twins will be” I said
Rei and Vic smiled
“3 more months” Chad said rubbing my belly
I smiled and put my hands over his. One of the babies moved under our hands and Chad laughed
“The babies agree” he said
Rei moved up and lifted up my shirt to look at my belly
“How far along do you have to be for us to see the movement?” he asked
I shrugged and watched as he poked different spots on my belly. I felt movement and the one of them kicked
“Someone is moving” I said
Rei kept poking and rambling and the movement was increased
“I think they can hear you or they are fighting. Oh I saw my skin move!” I squeaked
Rei smiled and everyone just stared at my belly
“See we know ones a girl because I have that effect on the ladies” he said
More moving along with me rolling my eyes
“So who is gonna stay in bed with me all day since I’m on bed rest?” I ask after a while
Everyone seems busy except
“I will. Don’t have much to do any way” Rei says
Victor makes a face but he has 3 projects due and a meeting with his club. When I try to get up and move I gasp in pain
“Careful” Chad says
I move slowly over to one side of the bed and stand
“Ok we are gonna sit in the TV room and you aren’t moving unless you need to” Rei says
He gets up and puts his hands on my side and helps me shuffle downstairs and to the TV room and on to one of the couches
“I’m gonna get food and stuff and find us a movie or something.” He says running out of the room
~Rei POV~
Not gonna lie I had a burst of happiness when I Ellie asked who wanted to stay with her.
“If I hear about you being a dick today I will personally beat you up” Vic said walking in the kitchen
I glared at him
“I’m over that now big brother. She will be fine” I said
He growled and left the kitchen. I popped some popcorn and got a bunch of water bottles and brought down a bunch of snacks
“Wow all for me” she said
I laughed and nodded
“I didn’t know what you wanted so I brought everything” I said
She smiled and nodded. I looked up and we were watching jersey shore
“Seriously Ellie. You trying to be a guido?” I ask
She laughs
“My dream of being snookie is crushed. I’m too pale and I have only done one guy” She says
I smiled and shook my head. We watched TV in silence for a while when Ellie finally spoke
“Why did you hate me so much when I first came here?” She asks
I looked over at her then down at her belly
“Imagine you were in my shoes a jock who gets every girl and gets drunk all the time. Then you get a girl waltzing in saying she is pregnant from one of your drunken nights. I was angry at you for shattering everything but then I realized it wasn’t just your fault, I brought you upstairs I knew every words to get you to come with me” I looked up and she was looking down
I moved closer to her
“I just couldn’t get over how angry I was. I always wish I could go back to when you came here that night. You looked so crushed and every time I was mean to you I wish I could take it all back and just been an adult about it.” I looked up again and her cheeks were wet
I moved closer and wiped her face. She sniffed and looked up at me
“At least it was me and not Ashley or Danielle. Then you and Vic and Your mother would have known they were lying” she said
I smiled and shook my head
“Mom knew about Danielle in 8th grade. She caught Victor with her down here and caught me with her two days later in my room” I said smiling
Ellie laughed and shook her head
“That is why I don’t want two Markham boys. You and Vic sure do get around” she says
I bat my eyelashes and lay on her belly
“Are you trying to butter me up?” I say
She smiles and rubs my head
“Your genes are going to make out babies pretty” she says
I shake my head
“You got some stuff in there too. I like your hair color and your eyeballs are cool” I say
She fans herself and swats
“Oh stop” she says
I twirl a piece of her hair between my fingers. Her reddish blonde hair shiny and full
“Pregnancy makes my hair nice. Your mom told me that after my hair will fall out and I’m not ready for that bro” She says
I pat her arm
“Any panic attacks you have come to me. I have been in Daddy classes” I say smiling
~Ellie POV~
I smile down at Rei and his blue green eyes are on me. Then he moves his head and closes his eyes
“I can hear someone moving” He says
I giggle and feel feet poking around. Rei smiles and hums against my belly
“They like your voice more than anyone else’s” I say
He laughs
“Of course they do. I’m their Daddy” he says
