This Is Just A Bad Dream

Dad signed all of us out and his face was bright red as we waited. My blood was boiling how dare Rei

“Why did you flip him Ellie?” Chad asked

I looked over at him

“He knows to keep his distance. He grabbed me and said I need his permission for anything done with our child” I said

He nodded and patted my hand. I leaned my head on his shoulder and relaxed a bit

“Dad” Victor came into view

I looked up and Rei was right next to him. Chad and I stood up and he held my hand

“Vic follow us home” Chad said

He nodded and Rei followed behind him. When we got in the car Chad huffed and ran his hands through his hair

“I want you to know, I’m sort of happy this happened. Rei has never been responsible and I’m glad he is getting it beat into him” he said

I nodded and smiled. I watched all the trees pass and we finally got to the house

“I feel sick” I said rubbing my stomach

I walked in the house and went to lay on the couch in the living room. My head was starting to pound

“Mom” I moaned

Everything went black after that

~Victor pov~

“Victor help please. Ellie just blacked out we have to take her to the hospital” My mother said frantically

I walked into the living room and she was on the floor on her back

“Ellie!” I shouted and patted her face

I checked her pulse and it was kind of slow

“Come on Victor. We gotta get her to the hospital” My mother shouted

I picked her up and carried her to the truck where my father and Rei were still talking

“What happened?!” Dad shouted

I shrugged and got in the driver seat. Mom jumped in

“Chad go get Sam and meet us at the hospital” My mother said quickly

I was driving over every speed limit. She has to be ok I kept repeating over and over

When we got to the hospital I jumped out and got her body from the backseat. Mom got someone fast and I laid her on the stretcher

“You guys stay out here and fill out some paperwork” the nurse said to my mom

I could see her eyes brimming with tears. We sat in the waiting room and my mother just tapped her foot repeatedly

“Mom relax” I said patting her shoulder

She wipe her face and took a breath

“Was she feeling ok before?” she asked

I shrugged

“This morning she was really quiet and she flipped Rei on his back at school. She looked really mad though” I said

Mom nodded. Dad, Rei and, Sam an hour later

“You guys hear anything yet?” Dad asked
I shook my head. We sat for a few more minutes and the doctor came back out

“She is ok. Her blood pressure was high and her calcium was low. And she needs more water” he doctor said

My mother stood up

“And the baby?” she asked

The doctor smiled

“The babies are perfect. Had the heart monitor on them the whole time and the heat beats were going strong” he said

I raised my eye brows

“She is having twins? How come we didn’t see them?” Rei asked

The doctor waved his hand

“Sometimes one twin will hide behind the other” he said

My mother’s face lit up at the bit of news and she almost floated to the room. Ellie had her eyes closed when we came in and we could hear the heart beats

“I wonder why we couldn’t hear the other heartbeat either?” My mother asked

I shrugged

“There are moments with twins when things just sync up” Ellie said softly

I smiled and sat next to her bed

“Don’t do that again” I said playing with her fingers

She smiled and nodded

Mom rubbed Ellie’s head and patted her hand. We all sat in the room with her till the doctors told us to leave but mom refused

“I’m her mother I will stay here tonight. You guys all head home” She said

We all nodded and Dad went over to give Ellie all her kisses

“Your room will be all comfy for you and the boys will be at your beck and call” he said

She smiled and nodded at him. Before we left Dad talked to one of the nurses and got mom a bed set up in Ellie’s room

I looked over at Sam who had been silent the whole time

“You good?” I ask

He looks over at me and nods

“Yeah I was just freaked out something happened to the babies and Ellie” he says

I pat his head

When we got home I slept in my room for once and I just felt cold.
