Do the wiggle man
I do the wiggle man
Yeah
I'm sexy and I know it

“What the-? I say groggily, lifting my head from my pillow to find where the music is suddenly coming from. It takes me a second before I reach for my side table, my hand clumsily picking up my phone so I can hold it close to my face. Darn sleepy eyes making everything look blurry and unreadable.

“How on earth did you get a hold of my phone long enough to change my ringtone?” I ask Jack, ignoring his hello when I finally manage to answer the call. I rub my eyes and check my clock; seven a.m. I’m going to kill him one day, seriously. Luckily Jason had stayed at a friend’s house last night; he hates getting up before eleven most days and he gets really pissy if he doesn’t get to sleep in.

He chuckles deeply, “I only set it as the ringtone for when I call, no one else is sexy enough to have it.”

“If I had Channing Tatum’s number, than that would definitely be his ringtone.” I reply bluntly and he agrees without a second of hesitation. Sometimes I doubt his sexuality.

“So are you going to tell me why you woke me up so early?” I ask after a few minutes of listing Channing Tatum’s best features; Jack coming up with more than half of them on his own.

“Ahh my little birdy, then it wouldn’t be a surprise, would it?”

I raise an eyebrow, forgetting he can't see me for a second, “Little birdy?”

“Si, senorita. Now, what are your plans for today?” He asks, faking a horrible Spanish accent.

It doesn’t take me a lot of thinking before I answer, “Lots of catching up on my sleep and then I was thinking a movie marathon with some popcorn and ice cream.” I tell him, rolling back so I can stare up at the ceiling and keep my phone between my cheek and my shoulder. I let my eyes close shut and sleepily listen to him talk.

“That sounds awesome.” He says wistfully, “But no, not gonna happen.”

“Huh?” My eyes shoot open and I sit up, catching my phone before it falls to the floor. “I don’t think I heard you right. I think you said n-.”

“You’re coming out with me!” He says excitedly.

“Jackk.” I warn. “I’m not really in the mood for a bar or a party today. I honestly would rather sleep the day away.”

“Nope!” I can tell he’s grinning and I groan.

“You have a plan don’t you?” I ask, worried about what he’s going to say next. In the few weeks since I first met Jack, I’ve learned that his ideas are not something that you want to get involved with.

“Always, dear.” I hear a bit of shuffling, “Now, at five o’clock you are going to meet me at that little concert hall down town. Do you know which one I mean?”

“Uh yeah, I think s-“ Wait. “I did not agree to this, Jack Barakat!” I protest. How the heck did he almost have me agree with it.

“Too bad. Dress nicely too, don’t forget; five o’clock!”

“I’m gonna hurt y-“ Before I can finish my threat he says a hurried goodbye and ends the call, leaving me staring at my phone with a confused look on my face. What the heck just happened?

Four forty-five

It took three hours of serious debating on whether I was going to meet Jack or not. The Lion King marathon on TV calls to me and I regretfully shut my apartment door and head down the stairs to my car. Darn Jack ruining my lazy day.

The concert hall is only a few minutes from where I live so I drive slowly, thinking over what Jack has planned. It cannot be good, the way he is being all secretive and refusing to give me any clues. I had text him several times and he had only replied with a winky face to each one, not even replying with words. Sneaky bastard.

Two lefts, a few stop lights, and a right turn later I pull into the parking lot of the concert hall, picking a parking spot in the back right next to the rear entrance so I don’t have to walk too far. Yes, I’m lazy. It looks deserted but the lights are on inside so I shut off my car and get out, locking the door behind me. I shove my hands in the front pocket of my sweatshirt after flipping the hood over my hair. A few raindrops start falling so I hurry to the door, pulling it open and sliding inside.

“Jack?” I call, my eyes slowly adjusting to the darkness and the dark forms moving around inside the room.

“Hailey!” A voice says happily, rushing over to wrap me in a tight hug. I recognize the thin frame so I squeeze him once before pulling back so I can get a good look at him.

“What the hell do you have planned, Jack?” I say seriously as he nervously bites his lip and ducks his head under my hard gaze.
