Cosplay Cafe

“Neko-chan! Order for table six!” A lady called out to the busy cafe, the cafe’s interior was decorated in an array of colours with white furniture. The bookshelves were filled with manga and a flatscreen TV was playing Rosario+Vampire

Most of the customers donning cosplay from the anime and manga convention that will be happening recently

Neko-chan collected the coffee and cakes on his tray and serving them up, brandishing a sweet smile on his plump lips. “Enjoy your treat!” He said cheerily and walked back near the cashier to wait for other customers. He smoothed out his Lolita maid outfit and fixed the cat ears on his silky black hair, making sure his eyeliner and mascara didn’t run down his pale complexion. His job name was Neko, from the cat ears and tail he has to wear as a uniform. Not that he doesn’t mind. He loves crossplay after all

“Neko-chan! You’ve been busy!” His fellow co-worker and kemonomimi Usagi-chan smiled

Usagi, meaning rabbit or bunny, wore a Lolita maid dress similar to him and black rabbit ears on his blonde and black hair. Usagi was Neko’s best friend at work and they both go to the same high school. Both were outcasts and were bullied for their taste in clothing. Not that they wore girl’s clothing outside of work, but they were the ones classified as ‘emo’ and apparently the jocks don’t like that

Neko usually had a snakebites and a septum ring on but he takes them off in fear that someone in school might come in the cafe and recognize him

The ringing of bells indicated a new customer and Neko smiled, grabbing two menus and slipping them in his apron and walking up to them

“Irashimase! Welcome to Cosplay Cafe, may I take your ord- Ash! Aya too!” Neko smiled when he realized who he was speaking to. Ash and Aya were his best friends and fellow cosplayers

“Ohayo Zee! Can I get a hazelnut latte and a tiramisu?” Aya asked at her best friend. “I’ll have a cappuccino and a chocolate muffin please” Ash ordered and Zacky jotted down the two orders on his notepad. “Come sit with us! Usagi-chan too!!!!!” Aya begged, holding his arm

“I’ll ask my boss, she might give us a break since it’s a bit slow. Besides I need someone to talk to besides Johnny” Zacky smiled. He glanced over at his boss who gave him a nod and he took a seat next to Aya, Johnny following him. Neko’s real name is Zacky Baker, and he’s a junior in Huntington Beach High School along with Johnny. Aya goes to a different high school while Ash is in college

“So... spill the deets, how’re the hotties Brian and Jimmy” Ash smiled, smiling at the waiter when her and Aya’s orders arrived. “Same old, they ignore us and we get on with life. I overheard Michelle Dibennedetto say she’s gonna ask him out. She’s such a hoe!” Zacky spat, glowering at the table. “Why do they have to be so fantastically, deliciously straight?” Johnny sighed, leaning his head on Ash’s shoulder. “Guys don’t worry! With your beautiful faces I’m sure they’ll notice! Besides you have a lot of people that have crushes on you! A guy in my campus said he has a crush on a waiter in Cosplay Cafe, says he has the most beautiful green eyes and has the smile and voice of an angel” Ash giggled as Zacky blushed. “He must be talking about someone else” He gulped, looking at the employees as Aya tutted. “He means you dumbass, geez stop trying to deny you’ve got the looks!” Aya sighed

The four sat there bickering back and forth, enjoying each other’s company in the infamous Cosplay Cafe
