Game Day and Clubbing
(Roxy’s POV)
After I got over Geno seeing me in only a towel we were having a good time at breakfast joking with some of the guys we met down there.
“How do you eat that much?” Sidney asked me as I finished off my second waffle, I also had some yogurt and now I am about to eat a banana.
“Um I have a fast metabolism.” I told him taking a bite out of my banana
“Is that good?” of course Max asked me looking at the banana in my mouth. I decided to play with him
“Mmm...Soo good” I told him putting almost all of it my mouth. I have never seen a person’s eyes get that big in my life. I looked around any everyone had the same expression. I started to laugh “Oh my gosh, you should have seen your faces” I said laughing so hard I started to cry. I guess no one thought it was funny. “Oh come on don’t be so touchy, I’m just kidding with you guys” I told them “Ok moving on, does anyone know who I will be working with today?”
“I think Jordan, but I might be wrong” Sidney said
“Ok well I will talk to Dan when we get to practice” I told them
The rest of breakfast was a little awkward so I was happy when it was time to get on the bus to go to practice. I sat next to Geno like last night we were quiet but not awkward, which is why I like spending time with Geno it was never awkward between us.
“What are you going to be doing during practice?” I asked him
“Light skate maybe, stretching” he said looking out the window
“Don’t overdo it” I told him
“I won’t” he said looking at me smiling
We pulled up to the arena by 11:30 and by the time practice started it was noon and I was working on Jordan like Sidney said.
“So why did you move out here?” he asked
“My sister got a job and I needed a change of scenery.” I told him
“Do you have a boyfriend?” he asked
“No, not anymore” I said more to myself but he heard
“What does that mean ‘not anymore?’” he asked
“We broke up about a month before I moved out here.” I told him a little angry
“What happened?” he asked
“He said he loved me and yet I caught him fucking my best friend, well ex-best friend behind my back” I told him still angry about it “I hate cheaters, if you’re not happy then leave, don’t cheat”
“I agree that is why I don’t get into relationships. I’m just a one night stand kind of guy” he said smugly
“When you find that girl I will be here to rub these words in your face, you know that right?” I asked
“Yeah, yeah whatever” he said smiling
The rest of practice was spent concentrating on Jordan’s hand and wrist, Working to get it strong again. We stopped early and I got to see the end of practice on the ice with the rest of the guys. I saw Geno off to the side doing some drills and puck handling with a trainer. I was amazed at how quick and agile he was for his size.
After practice we went back to the hotel for lunch and a nap for the guys to get ready for tonight. The game was at 5 so we had about 3 hours to get ready, I had no idea what to wear so I called Dan and he told me I can wear jeans and a Penguins top if I had one. I thanked my lucky stars I packed it at last minute, so I took a quick nap then got ready for the game.
As I was getting ready there was a knock at the door I answered it to find Geno in a suit and let me tell you he looked so sexy I wanted to jump him here and now.
“Hey, I am almost ready” I told him going back into the bathroom to put on a little make up.
“Ok, I wait” he said sitting on the bed as I came out to put on my shoes.
“Ok, I’m ready. Let’s go” I told him standing up after putting on my tennis shoes.
We made it to the arena and Dan told me I was going to be watching from the box with the injured players. So that meant I was up in the box with Geno and Jordan for the game. The game was so exciting and the boys got really into it even though they were not on the ice, Geno yelling in Russian and Jordan in English. The game was a success though and we won 4-2, we all hugged and gave high fives. After the game I was told we were going out to celebrate, I am so happy I decided to pack club clothes or I would be shit out of luck. We were leaving early the next day so I told myself I can’t drink too much to have a hangover but enough to have a good time.
“Give me 20 minutes to get changed and I will meet you all down in the lobby when I’m ready.
Sound good?” I asked them I got a collection of yeah’s and don’t take forever. I ran upstairs to get changed and 20 minutes later I was back down stairs in my halter top and skinny jeans that I knew made my ass look amazing and my stilettos. I got a lot of catcalls and whistles, so I twirled for them.
“Are we ready to go?” I asked
“Yep, let’s go” Jordan said wiping a stunned look of his face. We got to the club by 11 and got escorted to the VIP section. We started off with a round of shots then I ordered a beer with the rest of the guys.
“Wow, I expected you to order a girly drink that is pink or something” Fleury said over the music
“They are ok but I much rather drink a beer” I told them by the time it was 12 most have separated and I had to go to the bathroom. I told the guys that were left I would be back and left. On the way there I was grabbed by a guy that was already drunk.
“Hey, baby. How are you doing?” he said to me it took all my strength not to punch him in the face
“Get off of me” I said and got out of his grasp making my way to the bathroom I didn’t know he was following me until it was too late.
“Where do you think you’re going?” he asked me as he pushed me up against the wall. I was starting to panic as he tightened his grip on me.
I had to say something to get him of so I said “My boyfriend will kill you when he catches you” I told him trying to scare him. That is when I heard it, his voice
“What are you doing?” he said and yanked the guy off of me.
“I told you my boyfriend will kill you” I said looking at Geno hoping he would catch on and play along. He shot me a ‘what?’ look and I just shot him a look like ‘go with me’ so he grabbed me around the waist and looked at the guy.
“I don’t want any trouble” he said backing away.
“Just get out of here!” I told him and he ran away after that.
Geno’s arm was still around me and I liked the feeling of it. “Thanks for saving me from that guy” I said looking up at him.
“No problem” he said staring into my eyes and started to lean down. I started to lean in also and right as our lips touched someone bumped into us and broke us apart. On the inside I was screaming at the person.
“Umm, I have to go to the bathroom” I told him remembering why I came here in the first place. After going to the bathroom I saw Geno was waiting for me outside.
“I want make sure you okay walking back” he said and I thought that was really sweet but then I remembered he had a girlfriend and I did not want to be the ‘other woman’
So I just said “I think I will be fine thanks” and walked off without him and tried to avoid him for the rest of the night.
We made it back to the hotel around 1:30 and I was exhausted. I had just changed into my pajamas when there was I knock on my adjoining door. I couldn’t ignore him so I answered it.
“Yes?” I asked him walking back to my bed.
“What wrong? You mad?” he asked looking hurt
“You have a girlfriend Geno. I don’t want to be the ‘other woman’ I don’t like cheaters” I told him
“No girlfriend, broke up” he said looking so honest “No cheat” he said
“When did you break up?” I asked him
“Yesterday” he said
“I don’t want to be your rebound girl Geno” I told him honestly
“You no rebound” he said taking my hand
“Well if you still feel this way after next week then we will talk” I told him not liking being a rebound.
“Ok, talk later sleep now” he said while going to the door “Goodnight Roxy”
“Goodnight Geno” I said before he closed the door.
Once he left I just laid on my bed and thought over everything that has happened between us. I really like him but I don’t like the idea of jumping into a relationship so soon after his last one. Also what about my job, I am pretty sure Dan or Ray wouldn’t like me dating a player. I fell asleep soon after that thinking about our situation. The last thing I thought was ‘I am so screwed’
