Please Stay

I lied my phone down and sighed, in order to protect Sage I would need to have her with me every second of the day. I mean, not in the bathroom or anything like that. That would be very awkward, but I had to do something about it. Sage was a good fighter, and maybe she knows how to fight with a gun or knife. I sighed and sat down on my bed, I only had twenty four hours, which means I have today. Which isn’t enough time to even get close to finding the guy; I knew what I would have to do though.
I grabbed my phone and got up, I peeked into Sage’s room to see her laughing and talking with Stella.
“Girls” I said as I walked into the room
They both turned around and smiled, Sage looked a little confused and nervous whenever I’m around, but I guess that’s because I hadn’t seen her for a while. Yes, maybe last year but we didn’t talk though. Maybe a little hi and hello and then a bye but that was all.
“Yeah?” asked Stella as she realized me and Sage looked as if we’re going to kill each other. Which if I did then I would have made that deal with Kevin Lex.
“Um, you’re going to need to come with me, there’s a slight problem and you’re going to need to stay at the F.B.I building. Kyle’s coming too, but there’s this man who is hunting down Sage, but I can’t be too safe with this. So, pack a little bag of things until I can figure out where to put you where he won’t find any of you.”
“What about school?” asked Stella as a look of confusion crossed her face.
“Yeah, is he going after mom? Who is this guy?” asked Sage
I recognized that eyeing down, I couldn’t help but smile at my daughter. She was just like me, god I missed her too. She was my daughter and I had to leave her, Casey and I didn’t want to split up but we had to.
“Um…well….” I stuttered
“Dad, who is this man?” Sage asked, her voice sharp with concern and was very strong
“Alright, Kevin Lex he-
“What! I put him in the hospital, I didn’t mean for him to lose control of his right arm but hey, the man has it coming. He was a complete nut job if you ask me. God, why would he go after mom? I know he is and he probably has her, dam it I shouldn’t have been so rude to him.” She growled, mostly to herself
Stella and I stood there in shock, Sage was like a true cop or detective or even a F.B.I agent. I do hope she has this job to choose, because she’ll do very well with it.
“Well, yes but no, you had a right to beat the man to a pulp if he was being rude to you or mom, but I guess you could of talked it out…nah, that’s really boring to stand there and talk things out. Anyways, yes he has your mom but your uncles and I are going to find him and your mother.”
“Let me guess…you have twenty four hours huh?” asked Stella
I cocked my head to one side in confusion, “Well yeah…how’d you…”
“Because, many criminals or guys who take in hostages usually give the person twenty four hours to live or the person’s lover or whatever twenty four hours to find that one person. It just usually happens that way.” She shrugged
I sighed, “Yes, well that’s why we need to hurry, now c’mon hurry up so we can get to your mother in time, wait girls take in hostages too!”
Stella rolled her eyes as her and Sage started to pack.
I walked into Kyle’s room to find his Xbox off and him glaring at me, “Really, you’re going to take us some where before you even bother to look for mom?” he growled
“Well yeah, but I need to go to the F.B.I building anyway, he’s going after Sage too but I can’t be too safe so-
“Then let him get Sage!” he snapped
I was confused, Kyle hated Sage but I didn’t know this much that the boy didn’t care if the man killed her. I grew a little angry at this but I had to keep searching for my wife and getting them to safety.

We were about to leave when the door burst open and three huge men, dressed in black, held up guns and started yelling to leave Sage here.
“You better leave that girl here, Agent Burns, or else!” shouted one man
He was big as the other men but was slightly shorter; while the other two looked at least six foot five.
“Well you better put those guns down or else” I retorted, throwing in a hint of anger
I’ve been in many of these situations and I defiantly wasn’t going let this one slide, since if I do, either Sage would be killed or me. I quickly handed whoever was behind me a gun, I could feel skinny but strong fingers grab the gun. I looked behind me and saw Sage, she nodded. Seeing my question, on whether or not she knows how to use it. Stella just looked pale and wide eyed as she stared at the three men, Kyle on the other hand was just standing there but fear was clear in his eyes.
“Now, would you mind to move out of my house before I kill you three?” I asked sarcastically
One man smirked and shook his head, “That’s all you do Agent Burns, is kill criminals or people who are just doing their job. It’s wrong to do that, ya know? I can see why your daughter is all about violence and death, power and strength. Really, there’s no point to be so cocky and rude.” He growled
“Oh and your just all about the peace and non-violence fights…hmm….well at the moment it doesn’t look like it”
I heard a chuckled from behind me, I knew Sage would probably not feel any fear and take this lightly, but I could sense a feeling of concern from her.
“That’s it, Drake take him and make sure he never makes it to the building, our boss would probably be pleased to see him. Plus, capturing an F.B.I agent will get us lots of money. Agent Burns, do you know how many of our customers would love to have an F.B.I agent as their slave? I guess you don’t know that almost all of them hate you and your brothers.” He growled
I ignored him and glanced at the guy who was named Drake, he was the second largest and tallest man, but he was a little hesitant on walking towards me.
“Sage, when I say now, you shoot the men, but do not kill them” I whispered towards her
“Alright” she whispered back
I smiled at the three men and then turned and walked down the steps, towards Drake. I stood right in front of him and smirked.
“You heard him, arrest me” I hissed
Drake’s mouth hung open and what I heard next surprised me, “Hey Drake! Close your mouth, unless you love the taste of bugs. You’re going to catch flies keeping that wide ass mouth open like that, and would you mind but loose a couple of pounds?” asked Sage
I turned around and raised an eyebrow, she shrugged and smiled. Pride clearly visible, I chuckled. I knew what Sage was doing; she was being as cocky as me but also not pissing the men off.
“Are you giving him advice or…just being cocky like your father?” growled the other large man, which I guess is the leader.
“Nope, now why would I be cocky and rude? Listen, before I’m killed do you mind telling Kevin that if he just went to therapy he would have control of his right arm back a little? The man needs some brains” she sighed
“Zack she’s being such a bitch, just kill her now. The boss shouldn’t mind if you say she started killing us.” Whispered the smaller man
“So your name is Zack huh?” I asked the leader
He glared at me and then slapped the man across the head, “dumbass he knows my first name now!” he shouted.
The little man shrugged, “So? Do you know how many Zack’s live in this world?” he asked Zack
Zack sighed, “Yeah, whatever and no, we’re not killing her but him…maybe”
He smirked at me and then looked up at Sage, “Now listen, if you don’t shut your mouth then I will kill your father right here.”
Right after he said that, Drake grabbed me around the throat and pulled my toward him. I choked as the air couldn’t get down my throat, a wave of dizziness washed over me as I couldn’t breathe.
