A Familiar Past

The trees soared past me as I darted through the trees toward Konoha. I had to get there and warn everyone that Orochimaru and the Sound were coming back. I also had to stop them from claiming the prize, especially when it was my best friend. That was one thing, they were not going to be taking anyone from me. I wasn’t about to lose someone else.
Just then the gate came into my view. I stepped on it and rushed through the gates, not even bothering to stop at the guards to tell them what I was here for. That was a bad idea. They jumped me. I forgot that I was only one of the people who knew that the whole rogue thing was a spy cover.

Me: [Oh crap.]

I was picked up and dragged toward the Hokage’s building.

Me: [Well that works out.]

I smiled to myself. At least, I was going to reach my destination and not blow my cover … completely.
