Listen to Your Heart

Nervously I tapped the side of the taxi door, looking out at my surroundings I could see one by one houses passed by. Counting down to the one I’d surely recognize, finally the taxi pulled to a halt stopping at a house inparticular. Gripping my bag tighter and hoping for the best, I gave the taxi driver his money. I exited the bright yellow cab and made my way out into the sticky Arizona air taking in a deep breath, inhaling the fresh sweet scent of pine cones. Grabbing my suitcase from the back seat I made my way to the house. I couldn’t help but let a tear escape; so much has changed in the past 4 years. I was finally…home, this was my real home.
