It was that same feeling.

That rush as raven like wings sprouted from his back turned into a stabbing pain once the skin tore through. A pale bronze surface quickly transformed to a sickly acidic green and sad chocolate brown eyes turned to the vibrant red running through tangled veins.

He gave a howl as he felt those same thick red tears fall from sinful eyes and his ears sprouted sharp points at the highest curve. Another howl fell from anguished lips as sleek black claws protruded, replacing the freshly cut bare nails. He tasted a familiar coppery twang as jagged fangs tore viciously through his pink gums, turning what once was a luminescent smile, into a monstrosity.

Aurum City was unaware of this change. Every single time. Every single day.

A frustrated growl fell from torn lips as Xander caught sight of the disgusting reflection that plagued his every waking moment. He was a monster now. A maniacal smile took over the rugged beast. It was time once again.

And with that, the steadfast villain took off into the night, nothing but a black silhouette to notify the silenced city of the common occurrence.
