Lost In Stereo

“So are we all set for tonight?” Flyzik asked once he got Zo out of the room. Alex had no clue if Jeff’s radio really wasn’t working or he just said it so she would leave but it really didn’t matter.

This was probably the only time they were going to be able to talk without Zo in the room. And thankfully he could hear Zo in his head again so he could tell when she was coming back. He just had to focus on not blowing it all and having her find out before it actually happened.

“Yes, everything is set.” Alex confirmed as Jack started to smile widely. They had been secretly planning this for a while now and they were all excited for that night. It was the final night of the tour and Alex just wanted to get the show over with so that they could have some fun that night. Everything was planned in advanced and they just had to get through the show.

“This is going to be great! I can’t wait to see her face!” Jack said as Alex smiled and was about to say something then stopped as he started to pick up on Zo’s thoughts.

*Oh God, what the hell are they doing here? This is seriously not happening.* She was saying and he stood and mumbled something about going to find Zo. Jack was right behind him as they walked out of the dressing room and toward the main room.

All the kids were waiting patiently for them to come on and they pushed their way though the crowd trying to be nice as they explained they would take photo’s and sign things after the show. Alex just wanted to find Zo, she was freaking out even more than before and he was starting to get worried.

When they finally found her, her back was turned to them and Jack started to run and then jumped on her back. She stumbled forward but caught herself easily since it wasn’t uncommon for Jack to jump on her. It usually only happened about once a day if she was lucky and after the first time she had learned to be prepared for Jack to do sneak attacks like that.

“Jack, get off.” Zo was saying as Alex walked up and he noticed that she was talking to two other people. When he got a glimpse of their faces his blood nearly ran cold as he recognized her brother and best friend standing there with annoyed looks. Shit.

Zo’s radio started to buzz and Flyzik’s voice came through the speaker looking for them and mentioning something about Alex making out with her. And when Colter and Penny heard this it made them glare at the poor girl more while he and Zo tried to hide their embarrassment. To say the least, Alex was glad that Zo decided to change the subject and start to herd them toward the stage and invite her brother and best friend, who Alex was still suspicious of dating, to come back with them.

When they got back there, Alex grabbed his guitar from Danny and took a deep breath as he joined Rian and Zack and they all headed toward stage. Alex walked up to his mic and started his usual routine of saying hi to the crowd and beginning their first song. Jack and he went back and forth a little and messed with each other while the crowd just egged them on. Finally after the third song was done, he and Jack shared a look as Alex looked to the side stage and caught Zo’s eye.

“Ok guys, now we’re going to take a break for a moment and do things a little different this time.” He said as the crowd started to cheer again. He smiled to Zo and saw that she was looking nervously to Flyzik probably to find out what was going on. “Hey Zo, can you come out here for a moment?”

She instantly paled when he called her out and shook her head quickly. Alex laughed as he tried to get her out on stage. He had the crowd chanting her name and even was about to have Flyzik forcefully bring her out when he got an idea.

Looking down to his guitar, he placed his fingers on the frets and strummed a few notes before singing into the mic. “When you going to give it up? You’re giving me such a rush, c’mon Zooey would you turn me on?”

The crowd went nuts as he played a few notes and then Jack joined in also. “Just another pretty face, but I want one more taste. C’mon Zooey would you turn me on?”

By then Rian and Zack were also playing along and when he finished the chorus, he looked back over to Zo to see her turn bright red and trying to hide behind Flyzik who was cracking up.

“C’mon Zo, either get out here now or I’m going to have to keep singing.” Alex continued as she glared at him.

“And trust me, we haven’t played this song in forever and it’ll be even worse that just coming out on stage like Alex asked.” Jack added as Alex started laughing.

“Thanks Jack, thanks a lot,”

“What? You know it’s true. Have we even played that song live?” Alex just shrugged as he started to play a few notes again.

“Ok Zo, you asked for it.”

”You are, the taste of something sweet and I’m tangled in the sheets. You left a mark, dragged down my back, so chain me up I’m in too deep. Too much of you is never enough.”

“C’mon Zo, I can go through the whole song if you want!” Alex continued as she rolled her eyes and flipped him off. “Suit yourself.”

”When you going to give it up, you’re giving me such a rush. C’mon Zooey would you turn me on? Just another pretty face, but I want one more taste. C’mon Zooey would you turn me on?”

With every word he sung he intentionally got worse and he could see Flyzik saying something to her. Whatever he said got a reaction out of her and she rolled her eyes and took a nervous step forward before Colussy snuck up behind her and gently shoved her forward. She caught herself before she stumbled on stage and looked behind her to glare at Colussy before walk towards the middle of the stage.

“Haha, I knew I would get you out here!” Alex said as she gave him her best glare. Zack stood next to her just in case she would run again and she probably figured that’s what he was doing since she glared at him also. “Everyone give it up for our new assistant tour manager Zo!”

Zo’s eyes went wide as she processed what he said and he couldn’t help but stare at him. She was just standing there as Jack bounced over to her and pulled her into his arms for a huge hug. Alex could see him saying something to her and smiled as Zack and Rian also joined in and hugged both Jack and Zo tightly. By then Flyzik and Colussy were also out there and were joining the hug. When they all let her go finally, Alex finally was able to have his turn to hug her. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to his chest tightly.

“Congrats babe,” He whispered to her and kissed her cheek lightly.

“Is this really happening?” Her voice was a little shaky and he couldn’t help but laugh lightly at how adorable she was being. “And are those air horns?”

“Yep! You’re now officially our assistant tour manager. Flyzik and Colussy talked to me a few days ago and told me. They love you; Colussy told me that he couldn’t find anyone better to take his place. And yes, Vinny decided to hand air horns out to Jeff and Evan since they couldn’t be up here with us.”

“Oh my God, I’m going to kill him once you’re done. And you too for that matter! Really? Bringing me on stage? You’re so dead!”

He just laughed as he hugged her one more time and went back to have everyone give it up for Zo once more. Vinny was going nuts with his air horn and Alex couldn’t wait to see what Zo was going to do to him once they all met backstage again. Everyone walked back off stage and Alex saw Zo go over to Penny and Colter with a huge blush on her face.

All he wanted to do was join them and talk and celebrate but they still had five songs to get through and he knew that after they were done they had the whole night to have fun. He went back to the mic and started up the next song trying to keep the talking and messing around to a minimum and Jack must have been wanting to do the same thing since he really didn’t try to initiate anything more than Alex did.

When they played the last song, he said a few more things to the crowd before nearly running off stage. He handed his guitar to Danny as he went over to Zo and hugged her again. She giggled as she hugged him back and then the rest of the guys also came over for a group hug. They decided to leave packing for a while later and all went into the dressing room.

“ZO!” Vinny yelled as he tackled her on the couch and started to tickle her. She fought back as best as she could and even though the merch guy was small, he was mighty and Zo was losing the battle miserably.

“Go away Vin!” She managed to say and Alex went over to save her.

“Hey, are we going to go back and have a party at Alex and Zo’s?” Rian asked after he had taken a sip of his beer. They had already brought out the alcohol but they were going to get kicked out of the venue soon and needed to get everything packed up so they could go home.

Alex noticed the look on Colter and Penny’s faces when Rian announced that it was Alex and Zo’s place and she glared at the drummer before explaining what was going on. There was still so much for her to tell them and Alex knew that it was going to be a long next couple of days while they were in town.

He still had no clue how long they were going to be here but it looked like they were going to stay a little longer now since they were going to want to make sure Zo was actually safe and not being raped or taken advantage of with the rest of them.

“We need to go pack everything up, c’mon guys lets go get that done with and then we can go have some fun. Alex and Zo, is it ok if we go over to your place?” Flyzik said as he looked to Alex.

He just shrugged and looked to Zo, “I don’t have a problem with it. We have the bus for one more night so we can just park it in the parking lot and if needed people can crash at our place or in the bus. I highly doubt anyone’s going to be up to driving tonight.” Zo just nodded as she turned and followed the rest of them to pack up before they went to have a great after tour party later that night…
