He just didn't have the guts and now it's too late

Most people say their wedding day is one of the best moments in their life, aside from seeing their children for the first time. However, I'm not most people. I've regretted this day since I made the promise to the girl I thought I loved. The worst thing is that I have lead her to believe a lie. I was so scared to tell her how I felt, I was almost sick. She could tell something was wrong as concern reached her face every time her eyes met mine. I was most scared of how she would react. Would she understand? I doubt it.
