Pull the trigger
I couldn’t keep my eyes off of Party Poison.
“Enjoying the view?” Kobra Kid said walking past me holding a box, he noticed me looking at Party Poison. I kicked him.
“Ow!” he dropped the box
Party Poison looked up from whatever he was doing. He looked at me, then at Kobra. He went back to whatever he was doing.
“Go talk to him, I bet you can get him to smile” Kobra said
“No”
“Why not?”
“Because”
“Because why?”
“Just because”
“Aha OK then”
I walked over to the car and got in the drivers seat. I put my hands on the steering wheel and closed my eyes.
“What are you doing?” A voice said startling me
It was Party Poison, he was leaning in the window.
“Oh, Umm just sitting here…………….”
“OK then……………how bout I teach you how to use that gun?” he pointed to the seat where I set my gun down
“OK” I said opening the door and grabbing the gun. I shut the door.
“WHOA watch where you’re pointing that!” Party said backing away
“Oh” I said realizing it was pointed at his foot
“Give me that” he said holding out his hand, I handed it to him
He pressed something on the gun.
“There, the safety is on” he handed it back to me
We walked out about one hundred yards away. So I couldn’t hurt anyone on accident.
“Okay, now spread your legs a little and hold up the gun with BOTH hands” he said
I did as he said. He moved my arms to the right position. His touch tingled.
“Now, I’m going to turn the safety off, and you’re going to shoot that can over there” he pointed, there was a can about two hundred feet away.
“OK” I smiled
I tried my best and pulled the trigger. I missed, by a lot.
“Shit” I said
“That’s OK though, you’re not going to get it the first time, try again” Party said
I tried again. I was a little closer. I was irritated and put my arms down.
“Here, let me help” Party said. He got behind me as if he was hugging me, he had long arms and placed his hands over mine as if I were a puppet, he lifted the gun with my hand. His head was next to mine almost sitting on my shoulders. I could feel his breath on my neck. It made the hair on my neck stand up.
“Pull the trigger” he said softly sending tingles up my spine
I pulled the trigger hitting the can. Party let go of me. I jumped up in excitement.
“Now try it by yourself” Party said
I aimed, then pulled the trigger. I hit the can.
“Yes!” I said doing a fist pump
“See? Now of you practice every once in a while-----” Party started
I looked at him. He stopped in mid sentence. I swear he was so god damn close to smiling!
“Umm good job” he finished looking away. He patted my shoulder and started to walk away awkwardly.
I followed closely behind. I went over to talk to Fun Ghoul while Party Poison went to help Kobra Kid with something.
“So, do you know how to use a gun now, we don’t have to be aware that you’re armed and dangerous?” Fun Ghoul laughed
I pushed him “Ass” I said. He laughed
I looked over at Kobra Kid and Party Poison. They were talking. I don’t know what they were talking about I couldn’t hear. Then Party Poison suddenly punched Kobra Kid in the gut
“OW!” he yelled
Party Poison came over to me and Fun ghoul.
“We’ll leave for Battery City in a few, then we’ll stop at the restaurant, stay there overnight, then we’ll prepare to attack at night” Party Poison told us a summary of what’s going to happen
“Sounds good” Fun Ghoul nodded
“All right load it up!” Party said loud enough for everyone to hear
I got in the car and so did Fun Ghoul, followed by Kobra Kid and Party Poison. Jet Star didn’t get in.
“Is he coming with us?” I asked
“No, not yet, we’ll meet up in Battery City with reinforcements, that’s the plan” Party said starting the car
I waved goodbye to Jet Star as we drove off.
“So how far is Battery City from here?” I asked
“Well, we’re in Zone 4, Battery City is in Zone 1, so that’s about fifty miles” Kobra said looking at a map
The backseat had a lot more room now so I stretched out. I decided to take a little nap. I fell asleep looking at the endless desert outside my window. I slept for a good hour. I woke up, we were still driving, it was dark outside. I started fall back asleep, but we stopped. We must be there. I didn’t want to move, I wanted to sleep. Fun Ghoul fell asleep as well. I heard the doors open. I could hear the seat in front of me move forward so I could get out.
“Nooooooo” I pouted
“Here” I heard a voice, they stuck an arm under my legs and the other under my arm picking me up out of the car like a baby. I nuzzled closer to whoever was carrying me. I didn’t even know since I fell asleep in their arms carrying me walking up to the restaurant.
