Lucky Now.

Shine through the dark.

"Garrett, come on." She called out and he forced himself to pick up his pace. She watched the boy walk faster and she smiled as she leaned against the door. She couldn't imagine being without him now. It seemed silly that she didn't realize how great he actually was until now. He was everything she didn't even know she had been looking for.

"What are you smiling about, silly girl?" He asked as he reached his door.

She shrugged biting her tongue before she spilled out that she loved him like she felt in her heart that she did.

He chuckled as they got in and drove them silently to the park where they had been not even a few days ago with the guys.

"To the park?" She asked looking over at him and he kissed her, "Get out will ya?" He asked grabbing the messenger back and she confusingly got out of the car.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her into the grassy field not far from where they parked.

"Garrett..." she said looking around as the crickets began churping and she saw the occasional firefly.

"So, I think of you when I see fireflies." He said dropping the bag into the grass.

She smiled, "Why?"

"Because, I remember catching them with you in your grand parents yard on several occasions when we were little." He said and she watched him set out a blanket.

"So..." He said holding up a empty jar, "What do you say?"

She giggled and nodded, "Ok."

"Bet I can catch more."

She laughed, "You're on."

They spent too much time laughing and filling the jar with the creatures until they assumed they had enough and laid onto the blanket on their stomachs watching the jar as it lit up like a lantern.

"I think I won." She stated.

"Psh. Liar."

She laughed, "Well techincally it's not far because you have bigger hands."

He laughed, "That's a ridiculous excuse."

She couldn't help but giggle as she leaned against his shoulder. He placed his hand on hers and she linked their fingers, "You're the sweetest guy I've ever met." She whispered.

"Yeah, my downfall."

"No it's not." She said kissing his cheek, "I love everything about you." She whispered causing chills to hit his body.

"Feeling is mutual." He whispered staring at their hands.

"Garrett..."

His eyes moved to hers and she kissed his lips. He removed his hand from hers before pulling her to him as she laid on her back. He grinned once she was half way under him.

"So was this too cheesy for you?" He asked while her green eyes stared up at him.

She grinned, "No. Perfectly cheesy."

"Like me."

She laughed, "Just like you."

He chuckled before kissing her gently, "Coming to our show friday right?"

"Of course, I like making you nervous."

He rolled his eyes knowing she was in fact right.

"Maybe people just make me nervous..."

She chuckled and he touched his forehead to hers, "I'd actually feel better if you were there now that you're mine." He whispered which was true. If she was there supporting him it didn't matter what anyone else thought about the show.

"Well I'm planning to be there."

"Yeah, I know."

"Oh you do?"

"Yeah because you're a good girlfriend." He said running his fingers into her hair.

"True."

He chuckled and kissed her nose, "It's getting late and we have school. I should probably take you home."

"Stay with me?" She asked hopeful.

"So you can talk me into skipping again?" He asked with a grin and she giggled, "No. You talked me into it!"

"I will admit I didn't help the situation, but..." he said chuckling and she giggled, "You're a liar."

He kissed her with a smile, "You can stay with me if you'd like."

"Your parents won't care?"

"No. They might pass out from shock because I don't bring girls home but you know..."

She giggled, "Ok. But I'll have to stop and get my stuff."

"I think that's managable."

"Oh? That's so kind of you."

He laughed and kissed her quickly, "Let's free the fireflies and go get your things."

"Did you do your math homework?" he asked as he sat up and she rolled her eyes, "Yes dad."

"Hey, just trying to make sure my beautiful girlfriend doesn't fail!"

She chuckled and watched him lift up the brightly lit jar, "And she appreciates that."

He gave her a grin and kissed her cheek before holding out the jar. She unscrewed the lid and the bugs flew out in a hurry causing a streek of light to fly in front of them. He was too busy watching her to notice though. Her eyes met his and she gave him a smile.

"You're beautiful." He said not finding the need to hold it back now that they were together. She blushed thankful that it was too dark to notice.

"Thought I was pretty?"

He chuckled, "You are, but pretty is such a simple word. Beautiful seems more appropriate. Guess I need to change your name in my phone."

She giggled, "Right."

"Yep." He said looking down at his phone. He smiled as he found her name and clicked the edit button.

"So what is it now?" She asked and he looked up at her with a grin, "My beautiful girlfriend. Duh."

She laughed and he shoved his phone back into his pocket.

"Guess I'll change yours."

"To what?" He asked wrapping his arms around her.

"Oh you know, my cute, awkward boyfriend."

He laughed, "That's ok with me."

She kissed his lips and he smiled, "Come on, let's go."

She nodded and he helped her from the ground. She helped him place everything back in th bag and they walked hand in hand back to his car.

"Are you sure your mom will be ok with this? I mean, I don't want her to get the wrong idea." Leah said as she grabbed up her back pack as well as the bag full of clothes.

"Uh, wrong idea as in..." He said with a confused look.

"As in we're sleeping together."

He blushed instantly, "oh. Um no. Don't worry about it. I mean, are you planning to sleep naked or something?"

She laughed, "No..."

"It's fine sweetie." He whispered grabbing her bag from her.

Once at his house the lights were already off signaling his family was asleep so he grabbed her hand and they crept quietly to his room. They managed to change and get ready for bed in silence and they both climbed into bed after he turned the light off.

He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her to him until her back hit his chest.

"Goodnight pretty girl." He whispered against her hair now realizing how tired he actually was and it wasn't even midnight.

"Goodnight."

He kissed her cheek before shutting his eyes and she couldn't help but fall asleep instantly. She woke to his alarm clock going off and before she could even determine where it was he leaned over and slammed his hand onto it causing the blaring alarm to end. He fell on top of her causing her to giggle sleepily.

"You have got to stop keeping me up late. I'm tired." He mumbld into her hair.

"Well, we will spend tonight apart."

He pulled back and looked at her with a frown, "What? Why?"

She laughed, "You said you're tired!"

"Well, yeah, but can't we just go to bed earlier?"

She chuckled, "Ok, sure."

"Unless, you want to leave me." He said pouting causing her to grin, "Well, no..."

"I mean, if you're getting tired of me...."

"Garrett!"

He groaned, "What?"

"Stop it."

"Fine. Come on. We need to get ready." He said kissing her forehead before climbing from the bed. She showered while he tried to find something to wear and she got ready as he showered so by he time it was 7:30 they were both ready to leave.

"You're different early in the morning." He said and she smiled as she leaned against his dresser, "How so?"

He shrugged throwing his messanger bag over his body, "You're quiet and pretty damn adorable." He said stepping in front of her. She rolled her eyes and he leaned in kissing her softly, "Ready?"

She nodded and he linked his hand with hers before grabbing her back pack off the bed. He kissed her cheek before heading out of his room.

"Gar, take a poptart or something!" His mom yelled from the kitchen and he rolled his eyes as Leah giggled.

"Here. Go get in the car." He said handing her the keys as he kissed her lips.

Leah nodded and he dropped her bag onto the couch before going into the kitchen.

"Poptarts?" He asked holding his hand out and his mom placed two packs in his hand. H gave her a confused look and she rolled her eyes, "I'm not stupid Garrett, I know Lah stayed the night."

"Oh, uh, well I didn't think it would be a big deal."

"It isn't."

"Um, ok..." he mumbled and she chuckled as she poured herself some coffee.

"Just be safe..." she finally said and he groaned, "Mom! We aren't doing anything! She isn't like that." He said blushing madly.

"I didn't say she was. Just doing my motherly duty."

He groaned, "Right. I'm leaving. She's waiting."

"Have a good day!"

Garrett shook his head as he left and went to his car.

"My mother is insane." He grumbled and Leah laughed, "How?"

"It's too embarrassing to say..."

She chuckled and kissed his cheek, "Oh of course."

"She told me to be safe if you know what I mean..." He grumbled and she giggled even more.

"Yeah..."

She linked her hand with his and they drove silently to school. He threw her back pack over his shoulder as he grabbed her hand with the other. He was nervous to say the least. Walking into school with the prettiest girl there on his arm, well, he knew eyes would be on him.

She on the other hand didn't care. She held his hand confidently as they entered the school and pulled him to her locker. He dropped her bag to the floor and watched her open her locker.

"I'll see you in a few." He said her eyes locking with his. She nodded with a grin and he leaned in catching her lips on his, "Have a good day pretty girl."

She smiled and he gave her a wink before going to his locker with a smile. There was really no reason for him not to be happy. Things were finally going his way.
