Lucky Now.

Two hearts.

She decided she'd never figure him out. Right when she thought she was getting somewhere he'd close back up. Once they arrived at John's she didn't wait on him she just followed the guys in and fell onto the couch next to John.

"What's wrong?" He asked with a grin and she shook her head, "Nothing."

"Mhm. Fine. Don't tell me."

She chuckled, "Nothing's wrong."

"Garrett? You'll get use to it." He said just taking a guess.

"He frustrates me." She mumbled and he chuckled, "Well if it makes anything better he does like you. He's just really shy."

"Some times he's not."

"Most of the time he is though. He's trying. You just don't get it." He said with a grin, "It's a big deal that he hasn't hyperventilated sitting next to you in the car."

She sighed, "I just don't get it."

"Of course you don't. He hasn't been the eye of your affection for years..."

She blushed and pulled her knees to her chest.

"The kid adores you Leah. I mean it. Just give him time. I think it'll be worth it. You won't find anyone as sincere as he is." He whispered.

"I know..." she responded and he smirked, "Of course this is all under assumption that you like him as well because I've also heard you like Pat."

"I don't like Pat." She spat out quickly and he raised an eyebrow, "So Garrett?"

She nodded and he leaned into the couch, "Well, looks like you need to learn to be patient."

She whined and leaned against his shoulder. Garrett couldn't help but watch her from across the room. The way they were talking so closely nerved him. He fiddled with the hole in his jeans and diverted his eyes to it instead of them. He didn't want to seem worse than he was. He bit his lip and let his thoughts over populate.

"Gar." He heard and looked up to see the girl his mind was now on sitting in front of him.

"Oh. Sorry." He mumbled and she shrugged with a grin. He stared into her bright eyes that he could get lost in and she grabbed up his hands from his lap. He didn't ask questions, he would let her do whatever to him anyways. He watched her carefully, but instead of her trying to pull him from the floor like he assumed was the case, she sat in his lap placing his arms around her afterwards. He didn't care. Holding her was becoming one of his favorite things to do. He tightened his arms and pressed his face against her shoulder taking in her smell along with how she felt so right in his arms.

"Thanks for skipping with me today." She whispered trying to contain the butterflies in her stomach from how he was holding on to her.

"No problem." He mumbled into her shirt and she relaxed against him. He didn't care who was around at the moment all he knew is he was enjoying it. He let his back hit the couch behind him and he cuddled her to him more.

"Do you hang out with girls? Do not take that as mean as it sounded." Jared said throwing his hands up.

She laughed, "Well, not outside of school."

"Well forgive me for thinking you were apart of Anna's amazing crew." He said sarcastically with a grin causing her to chuckle, "You're forgiven."

"You're too cool to be hanging with them."

"Yep. I know." She joked and Garrett chuckled, "Nah, everyone has a nerd in their group." He joked and she elbowed him lightly.

"She's a nerd?" Pat asked with a laugh.

"She is! She has x-men comics!"

"What?!" Pat asked his eyes going wide.

Leah nodded with a laugh as John chuckled from his position although he was now playing a video game with Kennedy.

"She's meant for Garrett." Kennedy responded not bothering to look away from the television. Both of their faces turned red and Leah felt Garrett's arms loosen on her.

"Awe, but Ken, I thought we had something!" She joked causing Garrett to chuckle feeling a bit more relaxed now.

"Yeah sorry. I don't date nerds." He joked with a wink and she laughed, "Dang."

Garrett was no longer tuned in to the conversation he was busy watching his fingers trace patterns into her thigh. He liked sitting there with her more than he imagined. He had to man up and ask her out, which he knew that, but it didn't make it easier. The thought of her being his girlfriend made him even more nervous. He would be worried all the time. What if she stopped liking him? What if she realized he wasn't what she thought? Tons of things could happen! He sighed feeling his anxiety settle in and she laced her fingers with his that were still making contact with her thigh. He didn't get how she could be so calm. How she could still talk to Kennedy and hold his hand. He found it hard to do both because of how he felt when she touched him. He sighed and pressed his nose against her shoulder. Why couldn't he be like her?

She on the other hand touched him because she found it hard not to. After holding his hand and definitely after the kiss she found herself wanting to constantly be near him. It excited her and made her giddy, two things she hadn't felt in a long time over a boy.

"Well, gotta go. I have a date." John said and Leah laughed, "On a week day?"

"Yah his dates last an hour. Thirty minutes of wooing whoever then thirty minutes of...." Kennedy said and John cut him off, "Oh you know." He said wiggling his eyebrows and she laughed, "Oh my god. I would never date a guy like you."

"Ouch!" He said placing his hand over his heart, "Sorry we can't all be great like Garrett."

"Yeah, I'm sorry too."

Garrett chuckled and John rolled his eyes, "Have fun losers."

Pat waved him off not looking up from the tv screen as Kennedy yelled profanities at his controller. Jared had passed out on the couch some time in between John's discussion. She turned a bit so she could look at Garrett and he grinned, "Told you, they're crazy."

She shrugged, "So what? John's a whore. Every group has one."

He couldn't help but laugh, "You're a rare kind of girl, Leah. You know that?"

"Yeah. It's a flaw."

"What? It's amazing. You're amazing." He whispered and she smiled, "What? Like you."

He shook his head and she brushed his hair from his eyes causing his blue ones to find hers instantly. He was now full of nerves (of course) and he found himself glancing at her lips wanting to feel them against his again. She licked her lips trying to fight the urge to pin him to the couch and kiss him. He on the other hand clinched his fist simply from watching her run her tongue over her bottom lip. Some times, as much as he tried, he couldn't deny the 18 year old boy he was. He now was breathing so heavily he swore she could hear it although she was lost in thought as she ran her fingers through his messy hair. He then did something that even surprised the hell out of him. He quickly grabbed her face and pulled it to his, crashing his lips onto hers. He wanted a real kiss from her, not the pecks they exchanged. Her lips molded with his as her eyes shut in happiness and his hand tangled in her hair. She allowed his tongue to enter her mouth and he pulled her to him not wanting to share space with anything but her. They finally pulled away unwillingly because she needed to breathe. He panted softly as her eyes stared into his. After a few seconds passed the two of them realized the silence in the room and both turned to where the boys were sitting to see that they had paused the game and were staring at them with mouths open and wide eyes.

"What the fuck have you made Garrett become?" Pat fumbled out and Garrett blushed feverishly.

"What?" He asked weakly and they shook their head in unison before turning back to their game.

"Go make out somewhere else." Pat offered and Garrett looked down as the girl watched him with a grin.

"Gar?" She whispered and he looked up at her. She pecked his lips and he grinned, "Sorry. I just..."

"Stop apologizing. No more."

He rolled his eyes, "Fine."

He quickly removed her from his lap and got up from the floor. She gave him a confused look and he quickly grabbed her hand.

"Where are we going?"

"We are going to make out in Pat's room." He said boldly and she laughed as he pulled her up the stairs.

"We are not."

"Oh. We are." He said pulling her into the boy's room and shutting the door. She leaned against it as his eyes wondered over her.

"So..." she said with amusement knowing the boy was all talk.

He whined, "Make out with me."

"Ok."

He just stood there and she began to laugh, "Scared?"

"No." He grumbled and she smirked.

"You drive me insane." He said before grabbing her waist and pulling her to him until their chests met. He cupped her face before kissing her with as much passion as downstairs. She smiled into the kiss happy that he had the guts to do that. He walked them backwards to Pat's bed where she straddled his waist as he leaned his back against the wall never once allowing their lips to part for too long. He boldly grabbed her butt causing her to make a noise against his lips and he smirked into the kiss. He kind of liked having control. It was new to him.

"Garrett..." she got out at a whisper as she tried to catch her breath and he could have died happily then. He held onto her waist tightly trying not to let his hands roam as their tongues fault for dominance. He didn't want to over step his boundaries regardless if he was enjoying this. After a long time of making out his lips were swollen as he held the girl to him. He pecked her lips before speaking, "I um, really like you." He spoke and she chuckled, "Good. I really like you too."

"What about Pat?" He questioned.

"I don't like Pat. Never have."

He gave her a questionable look, "But you said you did."

"You're right. I said I like him which I in fact do."

He sighed, "So you don't like him like I like you..." He whispered and she nodded.

"What the hell..." He grumbled.

"Do you want me to?" She asked and he rolled his eyes, "No..."

She wrapped her arms around his torso and laid her head on his chest.

"I wish you would have said that."

"Why?"

"Because I almost killed Pat." He grumbled.

"Wel, if I wouldn't have said that we probably would still be where we started."

"Probably..."

She kissed him quickly and he smiled, "So, um, you should go on a date with me. If you want that is..."

She nodded in response and he kissed her forehead, "Great. Um, this weekend ok?"

"Yep."

Before he could speak someone knocked on the door.

"Um, please don't have sex in my bed!" Pat said from the other side of the door causing the two of them to bust out laughing and Leah hopped from the bed and quickly opened the door.

"Oh. Hi." Pat said innocently and she chuckled, "Your bed is safe still."

"Good. Continue then." He said turning around to leave and Garrett laughed from where he sat.

"I should probably get home anyways. I'm surprised my mom hasn't called the police yet since she hasn't seen me in a while." Garrett said sliding from the bed. She nodded in agreeance although she would be fine with him staying with her again.

He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to his chest, "Want me to take you home?"

She nodded and his fingers ran down her jaw, "I kind of don't want to go..."

"Why?"

He shrugged, "I don't know, I'd rather be with you..." He fumbled out and she laughed before pressing her lips against his neck, "I'd rather you be with me too." She responded honestly and he nussled her hair, "Then just tell me to stay." He whispered.

"Stay."

He chuckled, pressing his lips to her neck. He squeezed her side and pecked her cheek. He fought the urge to just push her back onto the bed and kiss her again and again.

"You should just be my girlfriend. I mean, you know..." He stuttered out and she couldn't help but smile at how innocent he always sounded.

"Just go ahead and laugh..." He mumbled embarrassed that he couldn't talk in front of her.

She hugged herself to him, "No. I like you and your awkward, shy ways." She said into his shirt, "and I would love to be your girlfriend."

A smile hit his lips, "Really?"

"Yeah and since I'm your girlfriend, you shouldn't be afraid to touch me ok?" She joked and he rolled his eyes at her.

"You know, it's ok if you hold my hand in public or kiss me at school." She said and he sighed, "Fine. We will just make out at your locker." He joked and she laughed, "Ok maybe not that."

He linked his hand with hers happier than he could recall ever being, "Come on, lets go."
