Prologue
I am invisible and I like it. My existence is only known by the mathletes and the science club, oh and my best friend Terayn.
Terayn and I are similar yet different. While I was an only child, Terayn was the second youngest of four children. Born the only girl of the Martin kids, Terayn and I became fast friends since womb because of the friendship between Diana Martin and Janie Lopez, our mothers.
Terayn had a rebel streak something that her mother encouraged because while Diana was a stay-at-home mom there was nothing cookie cutter about her. She was eccentric and lively. The perfect balance to nurture four children.
I was studious and cautious and loved the simplicity of my life. The Parentals constantly begged me to get out more, after all I am just a teenager and there is no rush for me to grow up, but all life experiences make you grow up, fast or not, you grow up either way.
