Sequel: Three Cheers

Heavy

31.

I let Kruger out on the back porch while I wash up and made some coffee. I let him back in right when my phone started to ring. Frances picked it up, giving me a smirk just as I closed the door.

"It's your lover." She handed me the cordless phone.

I rolled my eyes and took it from her, "Hello?"

"No, Hey what's up, Gee?" Gerard gave a soft laugh.

"Well, Fran did say it was my lover. You act as if you're the only one." I joked, tugging at my bottom lip.

"Aren't you just the funny one." He gave another low chuckle that made me shiver with delight.

"I'm only kidding." I started towards my sowing room, and Kruger followed at my heels, "Come on, boy." I cooed to him.

"Who are you talking to now?"

"My dog."

"You have a dog? What's his name?"

"Kruger. After Freddy."

I love his laugh, I could just imagine his funny little grin.

"I can't wait to meet him."

I sat down at my design table, "I bet he's aching to meet you too. He's wondering who stole his mama last night."

"So, you're his mama? Does that make me his daddy?"

Again, I bit at my lip, "We'll see."

Gerard let out a little groan, "I can't wait to see you. I want to come into the city tonight after practice."

"I don't want you to dissolve all your time with me." I fiddle with my pencil.

"That's what God -if there is one- put me on this earth for."

I rolled my eyes, "I'm so sure."

"Well, fate works in mysterious ways, October. We met for a reason."

I couldn't help but to think that too. I had met Gerard, lost him and found him again for a reason. Someone -The Gods, the heavens, someone- wants me to be with this man. There was so much I wanted to say and do with him. Really, my mind could barely comprehend it.

"You're right." I said softly.

"I'm gonna come see you. I have a lot of shit to do, but I will by tonight, so don't make any plans or dates."

I scoffed a bit, "Yeah right; I have nothing but meetings. I don't go on dates."

"I'll take you on a date, like we used to."

Butterflies erupted in my stomach. I always thought about the old times, the things we used to do.

"I'd like that." I said to him.

Gerard and I talked a little while longer until someone force him off the phone. I think it was one of his bandmates. I hung up my phone and tried to get my head into my work.

Frances had gone out to get something to eat while I finished up this dress I was working on. I just finished my latest design when my doorbell rang. I put my pencil down, and turned off my desk lamp, and walked out of my room. I walked down the hall and to the door, expecting it to be Frances.

I opened the door, "What'd you do--" I was cut off when I saw Gerard.

Again, as I had been in those last 24 hours, I flashed back to when I was 16.

I squealed when I saw him; with his disheveled hair and his chubby face and slight smirk. I jumped on him as soon as I knew it was him. His arms wrapped around my bottom and held me up.

"What're you doing here?" I nuzzled into his neck.

"What do you think?" He smirked against my cheek.

I kissed at him, and slowly got off of him. He closed the door behind himself and looked around; "Holy shit. Nice place."

"Mommy and daddy trying to fill the void." I told him, "But, as you can see, I already did that."

He took hold of my hand, "So, show me the one place I wanna see."

I raised my brow, "What do you wanna see?"

"Your bedroom."

I rolled my eyes playfully, read to quip a remark, but Kruger came barking from his doggy bowl. He yipped at Gerard's leg and growled. I chuckled and picked him up, "Play nice!"

Gerard made a face, "Not so vicious for a little pup named after a monster." He managed to pet his head and Kruger quieted his growls.

"See, I think he likes you, Gee." I cooed at him.

"All cute things like me." He winked at me.

"You're so corny." I put Kruger down and let him sniff at Gerard until he got enough and hopped away.

"So? Bedroom?" Gerard winked again, and I giggled.

"Follow me." I took his hand and led him to my bedroom.

Gerard followed behind me and entered my bedroom with me. I sat on the bed and leaned back; "Your bed is bigger than mine."

He climbed up, crawling atop of me, making my heart hammer. I bit my lip as he closed in on me; I could smell the slight scent of alcohol and I just wanted him closer. I put my hand on his shoulder as he kissed me, slowly moved my other through his messy hair. He straddled me a moment, hovering, to put his hand on my hip and beneath my shirt. Goosebumps arose when I felt his cold, rough and stubby fingers on my hip bone.

Gerard kissed me gently, bringing my attention back to his lips, and my fingers in his hair. I felt his tongue brushed against my bottom lip and I opened my mouth for him. My heart hammered even harder when I tasted the whiskey and vodka. I moaned softly, his hand raising higher up my ribcage, his fingertips brushed against my bra. I yanked, gently, at his hair, feeling the growing arousal.

I pulled away, "I gotta close the door." I panted softly.

Gerard got up, looked at me a moment before ushering to door, closing it and locking it. He kicked off his shoes and rejoined me on the bed.

While we tangled up in the sheets, I could only think of my happiness. Not about the pleasure, or pleasing anyone. The only thought was I was with the man I am meant to be with.

I could hear Frances in the kitchen a few hours after Gerard came over. She was on the phone; while Gerard was still beside me; the both of us stark naked. He had his eyes shut, with even breathing, and I wasn't sure if he was asleep or not.

I rolled closer to him, and his eyes opened just a bit and a lazy smile appeared on his face. I smiled back, resting my head on his shoulder; amazingly, I could hear his heart beating beneath my fingers.

"I got a show tomorrow." He murmured, "Are you busy?

"No." I licked my lips.

"I want you to come and see my band."

"I'll go, promise." I kissed at his bare collar.

He let out a soft sigh, "I'm kind of nervous now."

"Why?"

"I don't wanna disappoint."

"You couldn't disappoint me... Even if you tried." I sat up and kissed his lips.

"Good to know." He laughed softly, "And, I want to introduce you to my friends and my mom. They seem to think you're my Snuffleupagus."

I huffed a laugh, "Now I'm nervous."

"Don't be... They've waiting forever for this. They kind of lost hope after I was with Wendy."

I tugged at my lip, lying my head back on his shoulder, "Is she mad?"

Gerard stalled, "She is... But, she don't even like me anyway, I don't even see the trouble."

"Did she love you?" I asked quietly.

"She never said it. I just figured... Get over you by marrying her. I'm so fuckin' relieved I didn't do it."

"Me too." I murmured.

His hand rose above the curve of my back and moved up and down soothingly, "I love you. I mean it. I don't say it a lot, to anyone but my brother, but I mean it. I love you, October."

I looked at him, meeting his hazy eyes in the dim lighting of my room, "I love you, too, Gerard."

I messed with the frayed strands of his hair, "You make me happy."

"Keep pumping my head up, Gee."

He chuckled, looking back at me, "I'm being honest." He kissed my forehead, "I'm happy."

I smiled, placing my lips against his collar again, "I'm happy too."
