Sorry I'm Not Perfect

Not Good Enough.

I sighed as I pulled at the hem of my skirt. Why the hell am I wasting my time dressing up for these goofs? I can't believe my mom had talked me into even doing this dinner thing never mind talk me into dressing up for it. I may have dressed up, but I drew the line at wearing pink.

I think what I'm most looking forward to tonight is the look on Clarissa and Layla's faces when Zacky walks in. Seriously, we've been dating for three years and the girls think I'm that sad that I'd pretend to have a boyfriend for this long. I don't think anyone would get away with it for that long. I know they're probably going to give him a hard time by saying how disgusting his tattoos are and the same with his piercings. They say stuff about my tattoos all the time, but you learn to ignore it. They're also probably going to say shit about him being in a band, but Zacky's a big boy, I'm sure he can take it.

Soon enough, I heard the door bell ring and I ran downstairs, "I'll get it!" I yelled, running over to the door and opening it to see Zacky standing looking incredibly hot, may I just say. He had a white shirt on and black jeans, nothing fancy but my god he looked gorgeous. He smiled and gave me a kiss on the cheek as I let him into the house, closing the door behind him.

"Someone's looking fancy," He smiled, "forced into it huh?" I chuckled slightly and nodded,

"Yes, I hate it, I feel like I'm trying to impress them, which I am most definitely not trying to do!" I told him, he laughed and grabbed my hand as we padded upstairs towards my room. I heard Clarissa and Layla giggling as we passed their room and I rolled my eyes, eventually reaching my room.

"So, what are your cousins like?" He asked and I sighed, plopping down onto my bed,

"They're a lot of work," I said, "They will be the bitchiest people you've ever met, they will most definitely say something snarky about your tat's and piercings and they'll probably say crap about being in a band," I told him and he chuckled lightly, sitting next to me,

"I'm sure I can take it, as long as I'm sitting next to you, I'll be too distracted to care." He smirked,

"And why's that?"

"Because I'll have the most beautiful girl in the room next to me," He smiled and gave me a sweet kiss.

"Aww, aren't you adorable," I giggled, "Well, I'll have the hottest guy sitting next to me, but somehow I still don't think that will distract me from them. It's difficult for them not to get on your nerves, trust me." I told him, he was about to say something else when my mom peeked her head through my bedroom door telling us to go downstairs since dinner would be ready in a minute. Awesome. Here goes a night of nothing but fun!

After the whole introduction crap, everyone was sitting down at the table and things were awkwardly quiet, until my Aunt Karen spoke up,

"So how long have you been with my niece, Zachary?" She asked,

"Three years," He smiled, "Oh and you can just call me Zack."

"Three years?" She scoffed, "Never thought this girl would have a man 'til she was in her thirties!" She laughed and Clarissa and Layla giggled along. I rolled my eyes and felt Zacky squeeze my hand under the table. "I suppose you're perfect for eachother, with your horrible paint scattered all over your bodies." She shuddered,

"It's called tattoo's, Karen, and it's not paint, it's ink." I told her matter-of-factly, "And not to mention it fucking hurts!" I said and watched her eyes go wide,

"Watch your language, young lady! You need to give your mouth a good clean with soap. Foul language!" Karen hissed at me and I laughed,

"I'd rather not," was all I said before she and my mom started having their own little conversation. I could hear Clarissa and Layla giggling amongst themselves and I instantly knew they were either bitching about me, Zacky or they're still dumb enough to believe that I'm using Zacky as a ploy boyfriend. Jesus, those two need help. I looked up at Zacky and he gave me a smile that made me melt. You'd think after three years of dating, I'd be over all the mushy stuff, but when you're with Zacky; that's impossible. The mans gorgeous, what can I say? I was shook off my train of thought when my mom spoke,

"Ella, there's something that I need to tell you and I'm pretty positive you'll like it," she said smiling at me,

"What's up?"

"Well, you know since your father passed away we've been struggling to earn a fair share of money to be able to get certain things and sometimes just to keep us under this roof," I nodded and she continued, "Well, your Aunt Karen has been nice enough to lend us quite an amount of money to live off for a while, you know, just until we can figure this out on our own. It also means that they'll be staying here for a little bit longer," She said and I looked at her in disgust. I couldn't believe what I was hearing,

"Mom, you're kidding me right?" She shook her head, "Oh my gosh, are you insane?! You do realise that the money she's giving is stolen from my uncle Charlie. I am not living off her trashy money, no thanks mom," I told her, "And does me busting my ass at a job I hate for the past three and a half years mean nothing to you anymore? I'm the one who's working, bringing home the money for us to live by. You haven't bothered to go get one yourself, have you? I think it's time you moved your ass and got a job too, instead of leaving it all to your eighteen year old daughter," I continued my ramble, "If you're choosing to live off her filthy money, then count me out, you're on your own."

"You know that if I get a job I'll get fired or something for being upset all the time over your father--" I cut her off,

"It's been four years, mom! It's time to move on. I lost him when I was only fourteen years old and for the past three and a half years, I've been trying to move on. I'll never forget him, but I'm not ruining my life dwelling on it either. It's not an excuse anymore, ma."

"Oh be quiet, what do you know, you're only eighteen years old," Karen piped in, "Your mother's already taken the money and your cousins and I will be with you for the next month, it's already been done, you can't change it, so suck it up little one." She smirked and I balled my hands into fists. There's nothing more I want to do right now than to punch her right in the nose. I felt Zacky put his hands on my shoulders and squeeze them gently, it calmed me down a little but I was still furious at my mother.

"Shut the hell up, aunt Karen! Don't storm in here and act like you own this house, because you damn well don't," I glared at her before turning to my mom, "I'm staying the night at Zacky's, I can't be in this house with them right now, we'll talk tomorrow." I told her before grabbing Zacky's hand and walking out of the house. When we got to the car, I leaned against it and felt the tears start to fall down my face. I mentally cursed myself for crying out of frustration. Zacky wrapped his arms around me and rubbed my back soothingly. "She's just making me feel like what I do for her doesn't matter anymore, that hurts y'know." I told him,

"It'll be okay, baby, I promise," He kissed my forehead, "Why don't we head back to mine and get you some sleep, okay?" I nodded and got in his car before we took off down the road towards Zacky's house.

I just hope that when I go home tomorrow, Aunt Karen and the terrible two will be gone. Although I doubt that. My mother's naive, especially after my dad passed. I swear, if any of the three of them piss me off, they will instantly regret getting on a damn flight to California in the first place.
