Morning Songs

The two people that were contently sleeping in each other’s arms were completely unaware of the predicament they were in. Well, more like one person that wasn’t aware of what she has done yet again. She would definitely be ashamed of herself once she woke up but until then she snuggled closer to the warmth as she felt the crisp cool air of the morning creep up on her bare arm.

Georgie shivered and snuck her arm back under the covers as she licked her lips and try to get warmth in her cold arm. The brunette soon started to relax once again now that she lay comfortable without any of her limbs exposed.

Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful
I know I tend to get so insecure
It doesn't matter anymore

She felt the guy groan as he rubbed his eyes “Shut that fucking thing off” as he turned in his sleep. Georgie lifted her body to shut off the alarm as the rest of the song continued to play, it still brought a smile to her lips hearing Adam’s voice whenever she woke up but now she laid here freezing her upper body because of the stubborn man beside her.

Speaking of the stubborn man.

Her brown eyes glanced back at the naked man beside her to see that she didn’t recognize him one bit; sighing she got out of bed hating the fact that she was going to change in the cold. Her skin was sensitive to the cold and never embraced winter as a whole.

If it was up to her it would be warm all the time.

Pushing her strands of brown hair back she grabbed her panties and slipped them on before putting on her bra before the man sat up clearly agitated. “Where are you going?” he mumbled. Her chocolate eyes flickered over to him before answering without skipping a beat “Home” her guess is that he would get more annoyed thinking that he offended her in some way when he told her to shut off her phone.

Georgie would never be offended by something as petty as that. Most of the guys that she slept with didn’t like Maroon 5 so to wake up to one of their sappiest songs was never a mood setter. “You leavin’ cause I told you to shut off you phone?”

Of course she was right.

Grabbing her pink dress off the floor she slipped it on and zipped it up as she said “Nope” her answers were short and precise the complete opposite of who she was last night. Georgie never wanted to be a bitch in the morning but it was almost routine that the guy would only say something when they wanted morning sex, other than that they would leave before she woke up or she would leave and not a single word would be exchanged.

This was the instance that this guy wanted morning sex from the sound of his voice “Then come back to bed so I can give you a good morning

The brunette rolled her eyes as she put on her heels and ran her fingers through her hair to get out most of the tangles. His eyes continued to roam her body as she walked towards his bed again; he smirked thinking she was going to climb into bed with him again.

Then he frowned when he saw that she grabbed her clutch that had her belongings “Don’t feel like it. I have better things to do” a smirk was on her face when she saw the frustrated look on his face “Have a good time by yourself” as she closed his bedroom door and walked down the hall. It was risky to say such things as that but he surely did piss her off this morning.

First he insulted the song and when he did that she remembered what kind of guy he was; Georgie only screwed him because it was the wee hours of the morning and she was practically going to jump anyone’s bones might as well shag a cute one at that.

Shame always crossed her mind as she walked out of the men’s houses or apartments came with the territory but she tried to push those feelings away. She crossed her arms as she walked outside of the apartment complex as she quickly jogged to her car thankful that she drove to his apartment even though it was reckless to do so under the influence. Taking her car keys out she unlocked the car bouncing on her toes as goose bumps crawled her skin.

She rubbed her hands together to gain friction to heat up her hands before she fumbled with her keys and turned on the car successfully after a few tries. Turning up the heater she sat there for a few minutes waiting for the car to heat up she put her hands on the heater before turning on the wind shield wipers to clean the fog on her wind shield.

Happy with the warmth of her car and her clear wind shield she drove out of the parking lot without looking back. As she continued to drive she didn’t notice the area she was in, furrowing her brows she cursed before turning on her GPS to figure out where she was.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” her face turned to shock to see that she was in Chino a good hour and a half away from her house. How in the hell did she end up over here? Georgie grumbled as she set the directions before changing to her iPod that was connected to her radio. Knowing that there was no service for the radio she just pressed shuffle as she relaxed in her car.

Oh yeah
Oh yeah
So scared of breaking it
That you won’t let it bend
And I wrote two hundred letters
I will never send

Georgie couldn’t help but laugh at the choice of song that her dear iPod chose for her, no one and she meant no one could uplift her spirit like Adam could. She bobbed her head to the music as she sang along to the song feeling better about the drive and herself. It was quite a long drive and she needed all the uplifting she can get.

Once she parked in her driveway she saw another car parked alongside her, she pursed her lips recognizing the sleek car. It was Adam’s. What was he doing here? Thankfully, he had a key to the house so he wouldn’t be waiting outside or in his car to meet with her.

The thing was how long did he wait.

Georgie was about to find out as she climbed out of the car running her hands through her hair once more to hide what she was doing. It was still probably obvious to anyone coming in early in the morning with a party dress on walking towards their front door. Unlocking her door she met with silence as her heels clicked on the nice wooden floor.

“Adam? You there?” she called out.

She didn’t live with anyone so she can be as loud as she can but then she heard a voice in the other room “Adam? You there?” then a whistle came right after it. Georgie couldn’t help but laugh as she walked towards her living room to see her pet Amazon parrot Kiwi whistling away. “Hey Kiwi, how’s my favorite pretty bird?” she cooed.

Georgie opened the cage and stuck out her hand where Kiwi happily perched herself on her owner’s arm pulling her arm away from the cage. “Lonely. I’m Mr. Lonely. I have nobody. For my own.” She sang as Georgie felt bad that she left her beautiful bird all alone. She apologized offering some veggies to cheer up the bird.

She knew that Amazon parrots needed a lot more attention than any other bird since they are so energetic, moody and just needed interaction. They were like dogs she guessed, that’s what the woman said that sold Kiwi to her. Georgie never really listened just wanting a bird of her own since her previous parrot Stormie died when she was a teenager.

Georgie pecked the bird on top of her head as she said “Ooooo very nice”

The brunette laughed before she froze hearing the voice she was trying to avoid “Very nice indeed” her body stiffly turned to see what his expression was like. Licking her lips she almost sighed when her eyes met with front man singer Adam Levine. She bit her lip as she mumbled a good morning.

“Good morning” he replied back.

Kiwi felt left out so she voiced her greeting as well which made the woman smile before it faltered seeing how upset Adam was. “Where were you?” not wanting her bird to echo every word she was about to say she put her in the cage along with the fresh veggies she placed in her bowl before motioning him to follow her up the stairs.

As they walked up the stairs they heard Kiwi’s voice echo the house “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do! Use protection!”

Her cheeks heated up as Adam laughed at the bird, “I’m going to kill Tess” she muttered thinking of her baby sister that babysat her parrot all the time. It was then that she realized that Tess has been teaching the parrot those words when someone was walking out of the room together. Kiwi was intelligent, she knew when to say certain things and this was embarrassing because she couldn’t explain to the bird that her and Adam are just friends.

Closing the door behind her she leaned on the door watching Adam’s expression turn grim “You didn’t answer my question. Georgie” her eyes glanced up at him with wariness. She didn’t want to tell him that she had another escapade. It was all too embarrassing to share with him.

Adam saw the expression on her face and sighed “Georgie, when are you going to stop doing this to yourself? You deserve better than one night stands”

Her lips were on a fine line before she crossed her arms together “Look who’s talking? You are just like me when it comes to one night stands” she snapped back. Adam flinched knowing that she was indeed correct about that statement, he was no better than her having flings whenever he wanted. But he wanted to change all that.

“I know” he murmured as he glanced up at her with those hazel eyes “I want to change Georgie. Don’t you? We aren’t getting any younger”

The woman stifled a laugh “I am four years younger than you. You are the old one” she pointed at the older man who rolled his eyes.

“But do you see my point? I know your parents are riding you to settle down as much as my parents are telling me” Georgie thought about her parents and grimace at the mere image of her mother being dramatic saying she was never going to have grandkids from her during her lifetime while her father was worried that she was going to end up alone.

She wasn’t scared of ending up alone or not having kids, her job was her top priority. Being a Domestic Abuse lawyer has its perks being that it paid very well since she has piles and piles of cases coming her way. Her parents are proud no doubt but they only want the rest of the package for her, a family of her own and having her older sister Emerson married recently and working on having kids of her own as set the bar for Georgie herself.

Emerson always told her to go at her own pace. To not worry about what everyone else wanted it was what she wanted and what she wanted was peace and quiet. She was never going to get that, rubbing her temples she sat beside Adam on her bed. Laying her head on his shoulder she sighed “I do” she understood where he was coming from and quite frankly she wished her parents would leave her alone.

She felt Adam’s hand hold her own “I just want the best for you…maybe you should start dating again”

Her eyes opened up at the word.

Dating.

A groan passed her lips as she lifted her head in disgust “You know I hate dating Adam” plopping her body down on the bed to relax again. Adam turned his body so he can look at her while he was talking to her “No one likes dating but it’s all part of finding that special someone. Once you find them then that’s the end of dating, I promise”

“You make it sound so easy” she said sarcastically “So you are saying if I walked out of this house I will get swept off my feet and get married and live happily ever after with the man of my dreams?” she batted her lashes at him.

Adam didn’t look pleased before he plopped on the bed beside her “Stop being sarcastic. It’s not attractive”

“Yeah yeah” she mumbled before turning to her side snuggling up to her best friend.

“What are you doing?”

“Sleeping. Stop bothering me” she mumbled into his jacket. Adam fidgeted under her trying to get her to get off of him so she can shower and get dressed for the day. She refused as she pushed his body down on the bed “Stop it” she whined.

“You have to get up, G”

“No I don’t. I have a few more hours to spare” she grumbled clutching onto his grey shirt. Despite her argument he kept on moving around and that was when she just pleaded with him “Stay still, I barely had enough sleep as it is. All I want is an hour nap, is that too much to ask?” Adam heard the frustration that was in her voice as she buried her face into his chest.

He gave up as he soon relaxed “Thank you” she muttered feeling his hand on her back soothing her; he felt bad that she rarely slept when she was working so he gave her this one day to sleep in even though their friends wanted him to get her up and ready so they can hang out before she went to work. Adam was too soft when it came to Georgie and when he felt his phone vibrate he pulled it out of his pocket.

It was Jesse.

Adam didn’t want to move Georgie deserved the sleep she was getting so he turned off his phone before putting it on the night stand. Taking one more deep breath he pulled her closer to him before drifting off to sleep himself feeling fatigue consume him.

Got to love Adam Levine. I always loved him since Songs about Jane; just never crossed my mind of writing a story about him. I think it would be interesting to write someone other than A7x haha
