Forgive Me

Complications

Normal POV

Maddy and Ollie came back quickly to their room to put some bikini on, and to bring some towels.
Maddy was really excited by this beach thing. Scotland was not the most shiny land, even if it was a great place to live.
Zacky and her walked side by side, hands enlaced.
"Hey Matt!", the brown-haired girl called.
Matt stopped and turned to look at her. "Yeah?"
"How's Alyssa?", Maddy wanted to know.
Matt smiled brightly, showing his dimples. "Hmm, good I guess but you'll ask her. She's meeting us at the beach.", he explained. Maddy smiled, and so did Ollie.
Johnny sighed. Maddy frowned. "You okay?", she asked.
"Yeah...it's just... I see all these couples around me, I mean you and Zack, Matt and Alyssa, Ollie and Brian.."
"We're not a couple!", Brian and Ollie cut him off at the same time, causing Matt, Arin and Zack to chuckle, and Johnny to roll his eyes.
"I know what you mean, J, but don't worry you'll find the perfect girl!", she winked.
"In my case, I already did.", Zack added.
"I didn't think you could be so cheesy, M. Rock Star.", Maddy teased.
In response, Zack pulled her close and kissed her cheek.

Ollie and Brian were walking in silence, until Brian broke it.
"So... what about school?", he asked. "Did you find a College here?".
Ollie looked at her feet. It was maybe stupid but she was really disappointed that she had to give up her studies. Sure, she still could read some Philosophy books, but it wasn't the same. She had put all her heart in studying and she couldn't believe that it was over. She explained Joan's decision to Brian.
He seemed surprised. "Well, what will you do instead?"
"Joan wants me and Maddy to find a job.", she said in a monotone tone.
"What type of job?"
"I don't know. Anything we can find I guess. I have absolutely no idea.", she replied.
Brian seemed in a deep reflex ion. "Both of you can work for us.", he proposed.
"Oh...That's a nice proposition. I guess Maddy can work for you but I don't know anything about music..."
"Well, to be true, I was thinking that you could work at the merch. Gorgeous girls would bring more people", he winked. Ollie blushed and looked away. She was really embarrassed when people made compliments to her. Brian noticed it.
"Sorry. I sounded like a cocky rock star..", he chuckled.
"That's okay.", she assured.
"So, what do you think of working for us?"
"Maybe you should ask Matt is it's okay first", she pointed.
...And Matt was more than happy with this idea. Maddy found it great to.
The group reached the beach. Maddy and Ollie took their clothes off. But Ollie wrapped a towel around her.
Zack was wide-eyed, and couldn't stop staring at Maddy.
"Like what you see, Vengeance?", she asked, her eyebrow raised.
"Definitely.", he responded, causing Maddy to giggle.
"you're not too bad yourself", she said, looking at his tattooed chest.
Arin and Johnny were already in the water.
"Kids.", Matt thought. Ha was sat on a towel, looking at the ocean. Before he could understand what happened to him, a pair of hands came to cover his eyes.
"Guess who?", a soft voice said.
"Hmm, Santa Claus?", he joked. Alyssa chuckled and came in front of him. Matt wrapped his arms around her. "Hey babe.", he whispered.
"Hey Mattie", she said back.
He cupped her face softly and placed a kiss on her pink lips.
"Wanna walk?", she proposed and Matt nodded, getting up.
Alyssa waved at Ollie and Maddy, before slowly walking away with Matt on her heels.

Brian looked at Ollie. "Are you cold?", he asked, frowning.
"No, why?", she asked back.
"Why do you keep that towel around you then?"
Ollie looked away. The answer was that she didn't like people to see her in bikini. You could say that it was stupid to wear a bikini if she didn't like it. But it was no fun not to wear a bikini at the beach, right?
And the other reason was that she had small scars on her back...thanks to Joan.
She realized that she hadn't answer Brian's question. She looked at him.
"I don't want to tan.", she lied.
“You can just put some cream.”, Brian advised. He came to sit behind her, a bottle of cream in his hands. He started to take the towel off of Ollie’s back. Ollie shivered.
“”What are you doing?”, she asked a bit worried.
“Relax” was his only answer.

He started to massage her neck and her shoulders. Ollie couldn’t deny it: it felt good. But she couldn’t help but be a little tensed. She wasn’t habituated to that kind of thing.
She felt more and more stressed as Brian’s hands came down her back. The towel wasn’t on her back anymore.
Brian’s breathing stopped when he saw the three scars on the small of Ollie’s back. Ollie was trembling now. Brian passed lightly his thumbs on the three scars, his jaw clenched. He turned Ollie’s face with his right hand, and saw that small tears were rolling on her cheeks. He wrapped his arms around her, and pulled her close. She now had her back against his torso. He rested his chin on her left shoulder.

“I’m sorry…”, he finally said.
Ollie chuckled. “It’s not your fault.”
Brian closed his eyes a few seconds. He was burning inside. He couldn’t stand the idea that someone – most probably her stepfather - had hurt her. He tightened his embrace.
“I don’t want you to be hurt…”, he said in a very low voice. Ollie didn’t respond. “I’ll never let someone hurt you.”, he added.
Words didn’t come in Ollie’s mouth. She simply squeezed Brian’s hand. She felt so protected in his arms, like nothing could happen to her. She couldn’t understand why Brian was so nice with her. She hadn’t been nice or anything with him, that’s the least she could say. She was impressed that Brian still cared about her. She wanted to show him how much those words mean to her, but she couldn’t find the words, or the right thing to do.

They stayed like this for two hours, even if their friends were already gone. They didn’t talk much, or just some random things.
Ollie finally decided it was time to come back home.
“I’ll walk you home.”, Brian said.
“Oh… don’t worry. I can do it alone…”, she responded.
“Hmm, …it wasn’t a question.”, he retorted, causing her to giggle. He looked at her almost in disbelief.
“What?”, she asked.
“Nothing… It’s just… I think that’s the first time I hear you giggle.”
Ollie blushed. “Yeah, the first and last time you hear that.”, she said playfully.
“Wanna bet?”, he asked, smirking.
Ollie looked at those gorgeous brown eyes. She could feel her heart melt. Nobody had ever looked at her with such a tender look.
But she had to delete that idea of her mind. Brian was a rockstar. Brian would find another girl. A prettier girl, a nicer girl.

“Let’s go.”, she finally said.
Brian frowned, but followed her. They walked in silence, until they reached Ollie’s new house.
“So…I guess this is goodbye. For today, at least.”, Brian stated.
“I guess so.”
“I-I enjoyed this moment…you know… the beach was calm. It was relaxing.”
Ollie smiled. She couldn’t help but feel happy of that. “Me too.”
Brian opened his arms for a hug, and Ollie didn’t wait to be told twice.
“Speak about the proposition of work we talked about to your parents. I would be very happy if you and your sister worked for us…”. Ollie nodded. “I will, but I really don’t care about their opinion though.”
Brian smiled brightly. It was the first time he heard such a thing from her. It was funny.
“Well, I should really enter my house now. Thanks for everything, Brian. I-I like…”, she paused, her heart beating fast. Brian looked at her expectantly. “…passing some time with you.”, she added quickly.
Brian looked a bit disappointed, but realized that what she said was still a compliment.
He finally let her go, and started to walk toward his own house, which he shared with the guys.

Ollie entered her house. The first person she saw was her mother, and she had a worried look on her face.
“Hi, mom!”, she said.

“Who’s that guy?”, she heard Joan’s voice.
“Uh…a friend.”, she responded.
Joan moved closer to her. “I don’t think you understood my question…”. He slapped her violently. “Who. Is. That. Guy ?”
Ollie placed a hand on her burning cheek.

Valerie looked at the scene, impuissant. She already knew that there was some tension between her husband and her daughter, but it was the first time she saw him hit her. It broke her heart, but she was too afraid to do something. She told him to stop several times, but all she got was some “shut up!”, from Joan. She had to do something, though.
