When Tragedy Hits
“Yeah I understand” i mumble back
“ugh, maybe we should head back” he stated
“maybe your right” i agreed. Still trying to figure out want just happened.
Back at the Office.
We both walk into Tony's office. I sit on the couch and Nick walks up to Tony, who was at the moment paying us no mind.
“ahem.”
Then Tony looks up.
“What, back so soon?” he asks
“Yeah, theres a mob of people going crazy in the park. Thats what!”
Tony takes a minute then looks at me and then Nick.
“So what did you two really do?” Tony asked in a chipper voice.
“Are you serious? He just told you want happened and-
“So you guys were part of the mob?” Tony asks cutting me off.
“Yes! They were aft-- I stop short.
“After what?” Tony asks
“They were after anyone who rebelled against them” stated Nick .
“I see, so how did you two manage to get out of there?” he asked not really interested now.
I felt my cheeks go warm as i remember how we actually did manage to get out unharmed.
When i looked up Nick wasn't talking and Tony was staring at us both. Then he grew a grin.
“What happened? ” he asked interested again
“Nothing” Nick said looking up.
Then Tony gasped “No way, is that lip gloss on your lips! YOU kissed her?” tony yelled almost laughing.
My face was bright red now.
“We had to throw them off!” Nick shouted back
“ So you kissed her! Damn Nick!”
“Stop teasing Tony!” I yelled back
Then some of the other officers came into the office.
“What's all the hullabaloo about?” ask one of the older officers who had gotten to use to using silly words. Thanks to his 4 year old daughter. His name was Howard.
“Yeah what's with all the commotion?” asked Jean
“Nick made a move on Amy.”
“Shut up Tony!”
“Aw, shes blushing” stated Jean
“Jean be quiet your embarrassing her” said Howard
“ugh. I'm leaving” I said getting up.
“where too?”
“Somewhere that's NOT here, that's where!” I yelled running out.
After I stopped running i realized for the first time how big this place actually was.
“great now I'm lost!” i sighed
“Need some help?” asks someone
I turn around and Nick was standing there. He walks over to me and stops.
“Look, I didn't mean to offend-
“you didn't, so you don't need to apologize.” i said cutting him off
“Were can i get something to eat around here?” i asked not wanting to stay on the subject
“Follow me” he instructed
After a good walk trying to undo my mistakes we made it to the cafeteria.
“what do you want to eat?” he asked digging in his pocket
“um mm pizza?” a half answered
“what kind?” he asked back
“cheese” i replied
“drink?”
“um surprise me” i said back
He flashed me a quick smile before walking away to get the food. And my stomach did a summer salt.
Nick was possibly the first guy to make me blush without evening trying, or knowing for that matter. Why can't things ever be easy? I thought to myself
Then Nick comes back with food and sits down, he hands me my stuff and some napkins, and we start to eat.
“So were are you staying, these days?” he asked then taking a bit of his food.
Then something clicked
“Oh! Erm, actually I don't really have a place to stay” i reply sheepishly
“That's okay, you'll stay with me then” he said casually
“Okay, thanks...” I say awkwardly
“ugh, maybe we should head back” he stated
“maybe your right” i agreed. Still trying to figure out want just happened.
