Times Are Changing

Refrain from slapping a bitch.

The light breeze, the water touching my feet as I stood there with Dominic at the shore. I knelt down as he stared at the sea in awe. I wondered at that moment what went through his mind as he giggled when the water touched him, or when a bird flew by and he gawked.

"Monique!" Of course, Gaby comes and ruins the mood. I glanced over as she ran over, bouncing in her beautiful red bikini. My gosh has this girl blossomed in such a beautiful way, and envy filled me as she came over.

"Gaby," I reply with a smile as she stared down at Dominic. Her expression was questionable, and I wondered if it was that weird feeling my mom had after I gave birth. That feeling people get when they see someone they grew up with having a child of their own now.

"Are you really wearing that?" Yep, Gaby may have changed looks wise however she's still herself. I glanced at my baggy shirt and swim trunks with a brow raised.

"Nope, it's just a figment of your imagination," I teased and she laughed.

"Really Mojo, what the hell happened to you?" she retorted, looking me over.

"Had a kid," I reply as if it were the most obvious thing.

"Hey, I didn't mean it in a bad way," she defended herself.
"You are absolutely gorgeous."

"Gaby," I warn.

"No Monique, you are beautiful. You always have issues about yourself, that I wont understand, but come on. We're older now, and I've got just the outfit for you!" Dramatic as usual, bubbly and completely annoying.

"Stop," I laughed. "I don't want it."

"But you do, I see how you glanced over there," she pointed out. I furrowed my brows and looked where she was gesturing. David and Kiley, walking along the beach together, him holding her and lifting her in circles occasionally; in love.

"I think I shouldn't be here," I choke out. I was wrong to have come, maybe Nathan had a point. I glanced down making sure Dominic was still here.

"Hey," Gaby whispered. "I'm glad you're here."

"Thanks," I appreciated. I didn't even realize I stared at them when I was with Dominic out in the water. How stupid of me. I wondered if they noticed.

"Hey guys!" John came over, and noticed David.
"Can't believe he's with her."

"Why?" I immediately question, then cleared my throat. Awkward.

"She's just eh," John shrugged, wrapping an arm around Gaby.

"Wow John," Gaby giggled. "Smooth."

"Hey," David greeted. I knelt down to Dominic and lifted him.

"I think he's ready for a nap," I mutter. "He's been out here for a while."

"I was going to ask," John agreed. I was taken back by that.
"What? I have nephews, and my niece."

"I see," Gaby winked. I rolled my eyes and laughed.

"He's ready for kids when you are," I mused and Gaby gasped.

"Monique!" she squealed and we couldn't stop laughing.

"I have thought about them," John agreed. David snorted.

"Enjoy the youth," David advised.
"Once you have kids, things change."

"Like what?" I ask, turning to him. What the fuck did he know about having a kid?

"Like your clothes," Kiley chirped. I slowly rolled my eyes into her direction, and stared her over.

"This has always been, Monique. Except with a bikini top, Hun. She's not a whore like us, never has been," Gaby spat. I was shocked that she not only offended herself, but burned Kiley as well.

"I am not a whore," Kiley immediately corrected with narrowed eyes.

"A tan colored string bikini, come on," Gaby checked Kiley out. "Your nipples a little hard from the light water you poured on them on purpose to make them look that way. I know these tricks."

"Gaby!" I laughed, playfully hitting her arm.
"Let people believe what they want about themself."

"Ladies," John scolded with a grin.

"I'm just trying to educate her, John," Gaby excused herself.

"No more margaritas for you," John teased.

"Drinking?" I gasp. David and Kiley must have felt out, considering Gaby and I talked so much.

"You should have your mom watch Dominic, and come join," Gaby suggested.

"I have champagne if you're interested?" Kiley offered with a smile. Gaby rose a brow, then looked at me. I shrugged and we both nodded.

"Alright, we'll meet you up," Gaby picked Dominic up and I followed. We found my mom both of us walking quickly.

"I don't think I can do this," I breathlessly say.

"Free champagne? We'll have some shots first then," Gaby replied as we knocked on the door. My dad answered and Gaby immediately handed him over. "Have fun!"

"Hey!" My dad growled.

"Yay!" My mom squealed, along with David's mom as they rushed over and took Dominic.

"Thank you!" I yelled when Gaby yanked me away. We went to my room and she immediately went through my wardrobe. Tossing all of the clothes she approved onto the bed, which wasn't much.

"So, I'm going to grab something from my room," Gaby immediately disappeared before I could object. Is she being serious right now? In her absence, I put on my red bra, black tank top that's a little low on the arm pit area to show off the red, and dark blue jeggings.

"I'm not going to wear whatever you are getting!" I hollered, and she appeared with a dress. She narrowed her eyes at my outfit, then sighed.

"It's cute," she complimented. "Not like a dress though."

"It's casual," I remind.

"Fine, I'll go with casual," she sighed and left the room. I applied some eyeliner and lip stain, then went in her room. My jaw dropped at her pure red, just under the butt cheeks, spaghetti strap, loose at the bottom but tight at the top dress.

"Casual," I sarcastically repeat with a laugh. "Very casual."

"Too much?" She asks while staring at herself in the mirror.

"I can be your boyfriend tonight," I wink. "We match."

"True," she laughed. "I plan on getting some."

"Wow," I pushed her away and flushed red.
"Too much information."

"Since when?" she giggled, grabbing her cell phone. I watched as she helplessly tried to find a spot for it, considering her bra was a push up and left little room.

"Gimme," I held my hand out and she smiled.

"Thank you," she thanked as we walked together.

"Where do you think they are?" I ask with my brow quirked, not before grabbing a slick black hat. She smiled at my hat and tilted it a little.

"Lovin' the little mini top hat look," she complimented and I continued to laugh.

"Thank'ya love," I say with a cute accent. When we walked out, that's when we saw a fire pit outside with the boys around it like some pyros. Kiley was on the phone, twirling her hair and watched the boys.

"Here," Gaby handed me a flask. I took a sip from it, and almost gagged.
"Monique gag from hard alcohol?! What?"

"Ha, ha," I rolled my eyes and followed her to the fire pit.

"Should've dressed more casual," Gaby thought aloud as we approached the pit.

"Hi," I greet and took a seat next to John. Gaby sat on John's lap, after he complimented her endlessly on her attire, I bet the boner was proof that he wasn't lying. Considering as soon as she sat down, she stood up and of course said she 'forgot her cell phone' in the room and wanted John to help find it. I felt it was best not reveal to everyone that I have it, I wasn't a cock block of course.

"So," David cleared his throat. I could imagine how awkward this would be for him, considering with how awkward the situation was for me. I glanced at Kiley, taking in her beautiful white see through spaghetti strap dress that she wore to 'cover' her bikini.

"When are we going back?" Kiley inquired, forgetting that I am sitting here.

"In a week," David reminded with a tone that suggested he had already told her this.

"Oh yeah," she sighed, which suggested she had already forgotten. "So what do you do for a living, Monique?"

"Hmm?" I shifted my eyes from the fire to them and weakly smiled. "Oh ugh, a waitress."

"Oh, that's...interesting," she stated. "Where at?"

"Some diner," I measly answer with a shrug.

"Is that what you wanted in life?" Refrain your hand from reaching up and slapping this bitch, refrain!

"Duh, I've always wanted to serve creepy old people, and guys that want to fuck me all the time," I reply with a laugh. "The elder women make it worth it though."

"Well, that's..." Kiley paused and glanced at David. "Sweet?"

"Yeah," I reply with my lips sucked into my mouth and a nod.

"I have a photo shoot soon, might do playboy," Kiley abruptly informed as if her job was any better.

"So we kind of do the same thing," I brought up. She rose a brow at me and looked me over.

"No, I'm not a waitress," she replied with a giggle. "Photo shoots are-"

"I know what they are, Kiley. I'm not dumb. I mean, we both have demeaning jobs that people gawk over us for, and at least mine consists of keeping my clothes on," I spat then stood up. Her mouth gawked open when Gaby and John returned.

"Damn!" Gaby exclaimed with a loud laugh. I looked over David then walked away, I stopped in my tracks and turned around.

"Enjoy your night," I told everyone and didn't look at David nor Kiley. I was done with people thinking they are better than me, especially when they see me with a kid. The looks I get, the remarks people make, fuck it. I'm so done. I stalked to my parents cabin and entered.

"Back already?" My mom asks, David's mom stared at me with confusion.

"I'm going to bed, being a mommy is tough, I give you both props for it. Especially being so young," I compliment and leaned over grabbing Dominic. "Good night."

"Love you," my mom hollered, with a wine glass in her hand.

"Love you too," I reply and slammed the door behind me. Tears threatened to fall as I made my journey to my room, and laid Dominic down on the bed once I reached my destination. I changed into my guy pair of pajamas, and baggy shirt, laid next to Dominic and fell asleep.
