When We Were Younger & Better

Lucifer and Michael, two brothers destined to war with one another, are trapped in Hell together. When Lucifer's vessel, Sam Winchester, is pulled from the flames and rescued, Lucifer is left to fend off his brother's attacks with only his grace and nothing else. Michael's attacks are merciless, relentless, yielding only when the elder needs a moment of rest.

One day, Michael and Lucifer are freed from their confinements. Instead of turning to fight one another immediately upon release, Lucifer grabbed Michael's vessel - the human Adam Milligan - and fled.

His brain told him that he did so in order to weaken Michael, because without a Winchester bloodline vessel, he wouldn't be as strong.

His heart told him otherwise, that to Lucifer, Adam actually meant something.
