Lights Out

I’ve got the Whole World In front Of Me

3 Months Later

We had been signed to Standby Records and we had been working on getting our first album recorded. The band and I were sitting at the recording studio when out tour manager walked in with a really big grin.

“What’s up?” I asked him.
“You guys are going on tour!” He told us. We all jumped up and started jumping and screaming.
“Wait! Who are we going on tour with? Are we headlining or are we opening up for someone?” Courtney asked.
“You will be opening for Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria!” We all jumped and screamed again. I had been thinking about what happened with Black Veil Brides since the day it happened. “So start packing now, because you leave in three days.”

We had our tour bus packed and we were waiting for Asking Alexandria’s tour bus at the moment. The members of Black Veil Brides remembered us and we were able to catch up a little bit. A lot can happen in three months for them. We pretty much had the album done and it was going to be on sale soon. We were also able to put a few songs out already which ended up being a small EP After waiting a little bit longer Asking Alexandria’s bus came to the meeting spot.

We met Asking Alexandria and there was maybe a little fan girling going on but it was quite interesting. I had a feeling that we would end up drinking with them. We got on our bus and started heading to the first venue, which wasn’t that far away.

“Oh my god. Today could not get any better.” Jen said when we were on our bus.
“I know right?” I said. “I can’t wait for tonight either.”

Once we had arrived at the venue we all got out of the bus. I was in awe of what actually happened behind being in line and waiting for the doors to open. I was getting excited; I just wanted to go on stage already. This was what I wanted to do with my life.

“Getting excited?” A voice asked from behind me. I turned around to see Andy behind me.
“Well, yea. I haven’t been on stage in forever.” I replied.
“Well, I personally can’t wait to see your band perform.”
“Really?” I asked blushing a little bit.
“Yea. I’ve been listening to your band a lot recently. I can honestly say I like your band and I can’t wait to see you play.”
“Well, thank you then.”

“Alyssa!” Courtney called. “We need you to get ready! We are going on stage in less than half an hour!”
“Okay, I’ll be there in a second.” I called back. “I, uh, have to go.”
“I see.” Andy said. “I’ll see you on stage then.”
“Yep, I guess so.” I waved ‘bye’ and then headed back to my tour bus.

I hopped on my tour bus and walked to the bunks to get ready. I changed my clothes and then slipped on some heels. Then, moving to the mirror in our tiny bathroom, I applied my make-up. As I was putting it on there was a knock at the door.

“Come on, let me in.” Jen said on the other side. I just laughed at her. “I have to piss really badly. Your make-up can wait a second.”
“No, it really can’t” I said back to her.
“I’m going to kill you, Alyssa. Just let me in, dammit.” I laughed again.
“I think I’ll make you wait a few more seconds.”
“I hate your guts.” She said as I finally opened the door. I just laughed and walked to our little lounge area.

“Las Angeles, we are Queens United and we are going to rock your socks off!” I yelled into the microphone. I got an okay response from the crowd but I was craving their attention.
I talked myself through the whole show. Finally getting the crowd’s attention. Some of them even knew our songs and sand along. It made me really happy to see that. And just like that, the last song was finished.

“Thank you Las Angeles! We are Queens United; go buy our latest EP at the table to your right! Good night!” I ran off the stage sweaty and hyper as hell.

“That was amazing!” Courtney said hugging me.
“I know right? It was fucking amazing. I loved being up on that stage! Good job to you guys though. I wouldn’t be in a band if it weren’t for you all.” I said to my band members.
“You guys were amazing.” Andy said coming up to us with Danny Worsnop.
“Thank you.” I said smiling at him.

The night went on, we watched Asking Alexandria play and Black Veil Brides and then since it was the beginning tour night, we just stayed up and drank. The next venue was still in California so we didn’t have to worry that much about being late to it. It was just a really fun night, especially with it being our first tour.

“To touring,” I said lifting up my glass.
“To touring,” everyone else said as all of our glasses, and bottles, clinked against each other.
