Emily Smart, a fifteen-soon-to-be-sixteen year old has just heard the "wonderful" news that her foster parents of four years are expecting a baby girl, whom they plan to call Ebony. Normally, a girl would be thrilled to become a big sister.

But, Emily isn't normal, and she knows it. She's hiding something, but what?
