My Immortal

“so, since we managed to convince you into singing for us one day, when will you?” Terry questioned as we walked over to his car.

“HA! Don’t hold your breath!” I said and the guys chuckled.

Tim slung his arm around me and bumped his hips against mine, I looked up at him, he had a smile on his face. He really looked happy, the rest of the guys were really happy and joked all the time. They were on the good side in my mind.
Just as we were about to climb in the car I heard my nickname being shouted. I turned around and saw Jacob running towards me.

“Yeah?” I wondered.

”Uhm… I was going to ask if you wanted to hang out but you seem busy…” Jacob started and scratched his neck nervously.

I sighed and turned around to see what the guys thought by giving them a look. They all shrugged and nodded.

“Wanna come with us?”

“Uh… What are you going to do?” he questioned as soon as we all squeezed into the car.

“Well we have a band so we thought we could show Ames here what we’re all about”
We all sat in the car, humming along to ‘November Rain’ by Guns ‘n’ Roses and looked out at the passing scenery. I noticed that we were going a bit further out of Huntington, I couldn’t help but to wonder where but we followed the coast line at least.
My question was answered five minutes later when we passed the rusty “Welcome to Long Beach” sing by the side of the road.

“You guys live in Long Beach?” Jacob questioned as he fiddled around in the seat, it was really tight so we barely had any room in there.

“Well, only Will lives there but since neither of us has a garage big enough for the equipment and us, we thought it’d be better at his big ass house.” Terry explained, me and Jacob nodded understanding.

We pulled up in front of a big, blue wooden two-story house. 3 palm trees were swaying in the wind, the there was a huge wooden front door and the garage was decorated with 2 garage doors as well. It looked like a mansion, everything looked so luxurious and the neighborhood was a really classy one too. The grass lawns were the perfect green, the flowers outside everyone’s house were perfect and color coordinated. It looked like Barbie-ville! I started giggling to myself which cause Jacob to look at me weirdly, as if he wondered what was wrong with me.

“It looks like freaking Barbie-ville here” I explained quietly and smiled along with Jacob.

We hadn’t noticed that everyone else had gotten out of the car until Tim called on us. “Hey you guys getting out or what?”



I walked along the shoreline barefoot, loving the feeling of sand between my toes. Today had gone pretty well, the guys’ band was really good though they played different music than Matt’s band… I can’t seem to remember the name of their band haha. I still preferred Tim & Co.’s music, it was more my style and it sounded a bit more gothic. They even tried to force me into singing along which proved to be harder than they thought. Jimmy was the only one knowing my weakness; Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. We made a bet though, in a month or two we’re going to have a big sleepover apparently and the ones who can stay up the longest out of me and Terry decides if I sing or not. If I win, there will be a definite no but if Terry wins he’ll put me through that torture.

My feet had brought me to the hill where Matt and I kissed, I sat down and looked out over the ocean. It was beautiful especially now how the sunset was reflected in the water and the waves created a weird replica of the sun.

A familiar voice startled me causing me to jump and breathe heavily. “You like the ocean huh?”

“Yeah… It’s beautiful, especially right now” I answered as I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

He slung an arm around my small frame as he sat down next to me. Without even realizing it I rested my head on arm and it felt right for some reason. We sat there; no one said anything for a while. The silence was comfortable; it was one of those times where nothing was needed to say.
I took the time to think about things, well mainly Jacob and Matt. My world had turned upside down in a few weeks; I was friends with people I hate. Well I guess I don’t hate them anymore if I actually am friends with them. I also gained a pair of new friends, people I just met. It felt good to not be alone anymore; I can’t always cling onto Jacob.

“What ya thinking about?” he interrupted my thoughts.

I hesitated a bit but then I looked up and faced his eyes before I admitted; “That I would like to go out on a date with you.”

I might as well take chances now that I’ve got this far? I mean what’s the worst that can happen?

Matt smiled widely revealing his charming dimples before he placed a kiss on top of my head.

“I promise that you won’t regret it.”

I really hoped he would stay true to his words.
