Lifelong wait for a hospital stay
~ Anna Marie~
I did it, i'm gone. The blinding white tells me I am. The next confirmation is the only one I need, I see my mom starting to walk towards me. I smile. She is crying, why would she cry? I'm here, I get to be with her.
"Mom" I say walking towards her. She puts up her hand, her tears still falling.
"Anna, why?" She asked, her forehead wrinkling.
"What?" I asked
"Why? you have so much to look forward to, so much to be thankful for... baby girl you have Dimitri" She said putting her hand down and walking the few remaining feet, wrapping me up into a hug.
"He's better without me, without the baggage.... i'm to broken" I said into her. I breathe in her scent, Marlboro's and Lipton sweetened tea.
"He's better with you. You don't know his past, his fears, his dreams... Anna. you saved him and now you took that away from him." She said releasing me and looking me into the eye. I heard something behind her and looked, two children peeked from behind the gate.
"Mom?" I asked her. She looked back and got that look of "your in trouble" I always got when I was younger.
"You will see soon enough" She said, she wrapped me into another embrace.
"I love you mom" I told her.
"I love you too honey" She said kissing my forehead. It felt like I was tearing, searing pain went through me and I felt like I was falling at Mach 5. I hit and felt so heavy.... A steady beeping and then nothing.

"We lost her for a while there, but we got her stabilized, she's in a recovery room... Her grandma said that you can go sit in there with her." The doctor told me. I wasted no time getting to her.
"Oh Anna." I said walking in and taking her hand. I pushed a chair over careful of her cuts and rested my head beside her arm. She is my everything and I wont lose her.
I'm not sure how long I was asleep, when I woke up the nurse was checking on her. It was dark out so I know it has been a couple hours. The nurse went to check on the hand I was still holding but I wouldn't let go. She smiled and finally convinced me to let her change the bandage, her cut was thin but deep, the stitched it up but the reminder will always be there. A tear escaped out of my eye and I couldn't help but try and hide it. The nurse left and I put my head right back where it was. Falling asleep.

The beeping was completely annoying but I couldn't seem to open my eyes and turn off my alarm. My whole body felt odd and I felt like I was flying, but at the same time tethered down, like I was flying with a rope tied around my ankle. I finally managed to open my eyes enough to see I was not in my room. I felt something warm on my arm.. it was fuzzy so the dog must have fell asleep on me.. where ever I was. I forced my eyes open and this time they listened and stayed. I looked down and saw the top of someone's head, Dimitri. my mind told me. If I could just get my mouth to work. I tried and found that something was in my throat. I squeaked. His head shot up and he immediately ran to the door.
"She's awake!" He yelled, a whole bunch of people came running into my room, I snuck a glance at him, tears falling from his eyes. How could I have been so selfish?
"ok, now cough" The doctor told me, he was starting to tug on the tube in my throat, I coughed but all I really wanted to do was puke. It came out and I kept coughing.
"Di.." I managed, I couldn't form words yet.
"Shh, Anna it's ok, i'm here, i'm here baby" He said gently grabbing my hand and kissing my forehead.
"This is good, i'm going to go inform her family" The doctor said, his entourage following him.
"Anna" Dimitri sobbed into my stomach. I moved my bandaged hand over to his head and started to pet his head, the tears falling faster then they ever had. How could I have done this to him? I asked myself, right before all of my family came into my room. They all looked like hell, and I saw my brother holding the note. That damn note.
